Does anybody know if there will be supporting acts in Europe beside the festivals?

My hope is:

"Ivan & The Parazol"

for the Vienna show.
They are a @#$%& great young Hungarian rock'n' roll band.

They could invite new young bands for free.

They haven't done it so far on the tour. Not in 2012/13 either...

When you are 70 years old you don't need support. They are on their own now.

I personally hope it will just be Mick Taylor as a guest on 4 + songs and no support.

Still waiting to hear that he is gonna be on the Europe tour.

I'm sure he will be.

The very first thing we heard live in Macau was Keith opening with JJF. I wouldn't have had it any other way. The suspense and build up to the show was unbelievable. No support in europe please.

They should have support acts. They always did prior to 2012 so there's no reason not to now. Its hardly going to eat into the profit margins too much.

Whilst theyre not something I go out of my way to see in most cases, its a bonus for a lot of people (especially when faced with a long day in the sun) and for an expensive show in a stadium its something they should do considering youre otherwise only getting two hours of music.

The shows seem to have quite early start times in some cases, so I hope they'll add an opening act.

Its only 45 minutes. If people dont like it, they can always go to the bar or queue for overpriced t-shirts.

Of course, the alternative is for them to play longer shows.....

They had great opening acts on the BB-tour. So, why not? +they weren't so much younger then.

I think they should have opening acts. As said before it's a long day in the sun (hopefully) so some entertainment would be well appreciated. And a good chance for some upcoming, local or whatever acts to present themselves to an audience they can't reach so far. They always had great support acts, from the sixties to bigger bang. Don't understand why they left this path on the current tour...

I have come over to the way of thinking that a support act is a good thing.

The Stones can manage that out of their budget for the tour.

It makes the summer days more pleasant with a nice band playing a good set before The Stones come on stage.

Don't expect any huge names like ZZ Top some years ago, but AC/DC in OZ would be a gas.

Bring on the Europe tour and I'll be in Oslo with Lucky Dip tix on May 26th. ><

If there are no supporting acts and The Stones start on time (it says 7 p.m. on the Berlin ticket), then I am all for it, but if they wait for the darkness till about nine, then the waiting would be better with a decent supporting band.

Support acts are there for more beer sales, and beer sales ruin the shows. If they open the doors at 5pm and sell beer for 4 hours then people are raving drunk by 9am when the show start.

The great thing with "50 and Counting" and "14 On Fire" was that you could walk in at 7pm when doors open, no support act (few listen to them anyway), and by 9pm most people have had 2-3 beers and not 6, they are still not a big pain in the neck.

For all-day festivals the picture is very different. Many great artists, beer sales all day, hot dogs, herring with bread in the Netherlands, and mayonnaise, sauerkraut, all the stuff you need to survive a long day in Europe.

Most visitors these days are too old to hold more than 2 or 3 beers.
