Grrrr!, Exile and Let it Bleed have appeared. Which is next?

I think their best 'sounding' albums should be next, which would include Sticky, Black and Blue, and Tattoo You.

It would at least make an audible difference putting them on blu ray audio.

Since the Blu-ray Audio releases seem to use the DSD-Master, it should be possible to release all albums from 1964-1986 which were already available as SACD.

Through 1986? I know the sixties was on SACD from 2002...but I don't recall the 70s or early 80s on SACD. Were they Japan releases?

Yes, the Studio albums from 'Beggars Banquet' to 'Dirty Work' were re-released in Japan as SHM-SACDs and used mostly the 2011 DSD-transfers from the FX Copyroom London.

A small overview from the japanese Universal-Music-Store (with Google Translator).

Hi, all 60's Stones catalog was released on hybrid SACD in 2002, including all albums from 1964 to 1970 (except for the first two British LP's) and some compilations such as Hot Rocks, More Hot Rocks, Metamorphosis, 1989 Singles collection...

In 2011 all albums from 1971 to 1986, including live albums (but not compilation albums) were released on SACD in Japan only. They are made from the original UK master tapes.

In 2013 the same albums were released again but on CD this time, from the same 2011 DSD transfers.

Finally Universal Music has started in 2013 to release some classic Stones albums on blu-ray audio. For the moment only Let It Bleed and Exile On Main St are available. The former uses the 2002 DSD remaster and the latter the 2011 DSD transfer.

Usually new blu-ray audio releases are featured on the official web page : [store.universalmusic.com]

Hope this helps!
