Why the hell is this song called Downtown Suzie when Mick is singing about Lucy from Newport Street with a ten-ers worth of aching balls? Maybe I've had too much beer n red wine celebrating another Stones European tour? Anyway always preferred Jiving Sister Fanny
It was originally titled "Downtown Lucy" apparently. Don't know whether Bill changed it or the record company did. Or it may have simply been a mistake. Good little track though.
It was called Lisle Street Lucy, like the lyric says. Lisle Street was known for brothels and prostitutes, like Lucy ("with the clientele."). No idea why it was renamed, unless it's some sort of Dylanesque joke.
