Maybe not a masterpiece - but it's a great little vignette of a song.

If you don't get it, then surely you don't get where Keith is coming from.

I "get" it...I know it's a Mississippi John Hurt bluesy thing, doesn't mean it's a masterpiece or that I have to love it. Now are we gonna that way? That if you don't like this it means you don't "get" it?

Guillaume Tell Studios Davout, Suresnes, Paris, France, May 13 - June 7, 2002

As far as I know, Guillaume Tell Studios (which was a cinema before) located in Suresnes and Davout Studios, located in Paris city (20th) are two different studios. The 2002 sessions were held in Suresnes, didn't know they's also used Davout for these sessions?

Davout Studios were used in 1998 (?) by Keith for overdubs on No Security.

Sounds like various studios were used for the recording of Hurricane. Not happy with the sound here and there, a thousand overdubs, huge production, various studio trickery to bring out the final masterpiece...and it shows...!

Terrible, non-entity of a "song".

WelshEdge1 ...9 years and you resurrect this Zombie thread? Is this a record?

Do you think you’re gatekeepers?

I like it. A lot better than any “recent” Stones songs.

I like it for what it is, but might have been better kept hidden in the archives, then unearth it decades later, then have Mick overdub some new vocals, and then maybe have about five or six remixes...

Where can Hurricane be found online. Heard it, owned it, but somehow I lost it. It was a giveaway at the Hollywood Bowl shows, where I picked up a copy.

Thanks, actually I hadn't listened to it in a while myself, it's better than I had remembered. I think I give it a bad rap because of the cringe worthy lyrics ... ""everyone in town remembers the last hurricane, everyone in town hopes it don't happen again." Nice guitar pickin' though!

I bought two Hurricane CDs at a table set up at a Stones show in an MGM-Grand-arena’s walkway hall. I later opened one CD to play, and kept the other sealed. I still have both, and whatever your axiology conclusions, on eBay a Hurricane CD now sells for more than I paid.

It can also be found on Vintage Vinos. Nice ditty lyrics are fine, I always imagined it took the perspective of a time before weather forecasts in a tropical area. How bad is this one gonna be....sad smiley
