Roomful of Blues - Hook, Line & Sinker... Although their excursion into R&B/Soul (Watch You Go & There Goes The Neighborhood) are still my favorites, the new album is yet another addition into a long line of fun Jump Blues.

any original members still playing in RofB? lots of great musicians have passed thru that band....

I'm not sure... I thought that when Bob Enos (trumpet) passed away the other year he was the last original member. Rich Lataille has been playing sax for them since 1970 but I think the official start date for the band was prior to that. The list at Wikipedia is listed as partial.

Peace,
Mr DJA

thanks - yeah, didn't think any were left. that's fine - they're one of those acts whose spirit is more important than their lineup. the count basie orchestra is still going strong all these decades after bill basie and all of those who played with him have passed....

i did get that soundgarden live album and the johnny cash bottleg volume 2 but i don't look at archive material when talking about the best albums of a particular year.

i may need to check out this new robbie robertson album since everyone is talking about it

Total agreement... I've always been happy with Roomful albums and shows regardless of who is on the record or on the stage. I've got my favorites but your assessment that it's the spirit of that band that matters I think is right on target. smileys with beer

I hope I did this right I have never posted a video before.
The Decemberists "Rise to Me" from their latest.

My favorite of 2011 so far.
A hint of Wild Horses, a little Gram Parsons, and a dose of
Neil Young harmonica thrown in for good measure.
I think it's a great song from a very good album.

Anyone listened to Different Kind Of Light by the Statesboro Revue yet? The reviews I've read are quite good.

Another one from The Decemberists
The intro will remind you of Country Honk.

Listened to the album (spotify): not impressed. I don't like the singer, nor the drummer.

Nice to see that a lot of people like the Decemberists latest. Great album! REM should listen to it carefully, so they remember how a good REM should sound.
