OT: The Downliner ´s Sect

does somebody like this band? they did quite a powerful beat, of course in the second or third row, but there were many intersections with at least The Kimks, The Who and many others.

They didn´t "make it" like the Big triumphirate at the time, even The Kinks.

But they were around with tight records between early hard rock (he was a square), country songs (may the bird of paradise fly up your nose - nasty lyrics! smiling smiley )
punk rock (show biz & bloodhound.

I've got a 30-track CD called (Be A) Sect Maniac. True, they had quite an edge and seem to be all but forgotten among the "big" beat and blues groups of the time. The Downliners Sect seems to be the point where beat and blues perfectly merged.

Here's one of their later singles, Glendora (June 1966).

Still playing live and seen them many times in the Twickenham area.
Eel Pie Club and outside The Barmy Arms down by the Thames. winking smiley
