Keith Close-Up Footage

Stumbled across this fan-shot video of the Stones performing Jumpin' Jack Flash on the current tour. The camera is almost exclusively focusing on Keith. It's interesting to note his participation, facial-expressions, puffing and, at certain points, evident exhaustion. Still, he's still rocking at 70. Go, Keith!

Magic. Phones at gigs has it's plus points. grinning smiley

The "puffing" is Keith doing his Keith mouth, much like on front of Black and Blue. winking smiley

People can disapprove of his lifestyle. They can say he should have died 40 years ago. They can say they don't even like the Rolling Stones. But you still HAVE to say this is one of the coolest guys in the world. C'mon. At 70, after all the things Keith has been through, the fact that he's even standing on stage is incredible. Let alone rocking out and truly giving the fans his 100% (whatever that may be). At this point, he deserves to live forever having cheated death so many times.

After our planet collapses, what will stay and live after that? The riff of "Jumpin' Jack Flash" and it will be the start of the new humankind.

Overdubs? Not that I really care since this could, almost, be any version since 1989

Really really cool footage.

Thanks for posting and huge props to the person who captured it and shared it, THANK YOU!!

And again, HUGE THANKS to Mick and the band for "not worrying about it" and just allowing people to capture stuff like this, it is awesome. It really brings it home, to my home.

ps
Looks like the good man who captured this has a lot of great videos,
lots of great groups and footage and more great Stones videos too [www.youtube.com]

Fantastic. Don't know why the slick and grandiose Hydepark dvd with MT cut left me stone stone cold last week, while this gives me goosebumps. Something about the humnan scale restored and that's where the greatness resides?

That's a special clip. Cinéma vérité for sure.

I am reflecting on the clip just having seen it a few minutes ago. Although I was caught up in it when watching it and thought it was great, now on further reflection it almost feels like Keith was caught up in the "machine" of the Rolling Stones. Was Keith playing from the heart, or was he caught up in the machine? Was he driving the song or was he being driven?

It's arguable that the "machine" feeling comes from them playing the same song for the 5000th time, and the Vegas Era influence still hanging over the "New New New New New Stones."

Good for Keith! Obviously not what he once was but pretty damn good for a close to 70yr old man in my books!

Another spirited moment of Keith's, in addition to being the only time they played this on the U.S. leg, "back up to Boston" appropriately enough. Listen to the crowd saluting Keith when his vocal parts come in....
