I'd like to see a local band from whatever city they happen to be in at the time.

Then I know that I can show up late and miss them. It helps to beat the crowd and allows for a few more lines.cool smiley

So the music scene in Buffalo kinda sucks, huh? tongue sticking out smiley

Not as good as the big easy.

chuck berry would not work because he would want a million dollars per song and he would not be kidding, the nerve of that guy after all the stones owe him

How bout the Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl and the boys would be a good match with the Stones.

I would like to see Dire Straits open up for the Stones. I have no idea what Knopfler has been up to lately.

He has extensive North American and UK/Euro tours coming up this year. He is very busy.

He does? Checking his website, all dates listed are for the 2010 tour.

I'm with EG here. I can't understand why they haven't done that every time. I would say it's a win-win situation.

BLACK KEYS

That's my first choice too. Joe Bonamassa & the Derek Tucks Band would be good too IMO. Or how about Ronnie Earl?

Buddy Guy has opened for them a lot over the years, but he'd still be a great choice.

Of course Chuck Berry would be the absolute best, but I don't know if they could get him for a whole tour (hope he's feeling a lot better since his recent collapse on stage, CBII!)

Might be best to wait until we know about next tour for sure before speculating on support acts. Big chunk of the crowd will still be in bar while warm-up on anyhow no matter who it is (including me)!
However, I'd throw Black Country Communion's name in to the hat.

The Black Keys would be wonderful. As would the Raconteurs.

As fabulous as the Pretties are, I suspect we’ll be getting more the usual contemporary acts as openers: see the Strokes, White Stripes, Ryan Adams, The Darkness, Kasabian, Razorlight, Charlatans, etc.

Now THAT'S A show I'd travel for... I've got to find a way to get to St. Louis & see you all... With or without the Stones! With Chuck on the bill I wonder if I'd feel like I was going to a Stones concert looking forward to seeing the opener than the Stones. That might be the only time/example I can think of. Possibly if they got Walter Washington & Dumpstaphunk (although I'm sure Edith Grove could find something better, those two are my favorites) to open in New Orleans I'd have the same feeling.

Peace,
Mr DJA
