I'd be just fine with something along the lines of Texas A&M marching band. And the crowd can try to sing the national anthem together (with the original melody, not to mention the correct words.)

John Fogerty.Pure American rock and roll. Many of ya don't like The Eagles, but they are a good choice. ZZ Top? Hey, why not? Maybe go blues with BB King and Buddy Guy? Now that would be cool!!

Up With People or something similarly cheesy.

Rock bands and the Super Bowel don't mix.

not a typo, right?

The Superbowl game I attended around 1987 (or so) featured Up With People at half-time. The Beach Boys lip sank one song for a pre-game performance, if you can call it that.... But the Giants kicked the Broncos butts that game.

It's in Indy next year right? If so how about John Mellencamp....
Yeah I was thinking about Mellancamp. His career could use a shot in the arm. Although they don't neccessarily get local acts. The Eagles are probably the biggest American band that hasn't performed. Or gazza's boys.Bon Jovi.smiling bouncing smiley

That would be a great band name: Gazza's Boys

I think we'll see John Mellencamp. I'm not a fan at all, but the game is being played in Indiana, and that's his home.

I just hope for something, anything better than what they had this year. A new low.

As for the national anthem, we should have a member of the military sing it at every Super Bowl, in the way it was written!!!
Enough of these divas trying to put their spin on it!

Britney Spears lowered head first from a hot air balloon onto the stage, where she is immediately strapped into a rocket ship and launched while 2000 Light Years From Home is blasted.

Maybe they should just show the video of the Beatles playing on the Apple roof.
Or JJF and Satisfaction from Gimme Shelter.
Or the 10-minute of Imagination from Hampton.
