Single 14
1. Shattered
2. Everything's Turning To Gold (Previously Unreleased

Uh huh. It's on THREE comps already yet alone available on the original single!!

It doesn't include the No Security singles! AHHHHH!

Interesting that they're doing this in such a wasteful way, at least the majority of the earlier years. Some of the single versions and remixes and a B-side or two finally on CD.

These are the only ones that interest me of the whole thing. although I could do without Rock And A Hard Place:

Single 30
1. Terrifying (7” remix)
2. Rock And A Hard Place (7” version)
3. Terrifying (12” remix)
4. Rock And A Hard Place (dance mix)
5. Harlem Shuffle (London mix)
6. Wish I’d Never Met You
7. Harlem Shuffle (LP version)

Single 31
1. Highwire 7” version
2. Highwire (full length version)
3. Sympathy For The Devil (live)
4. I Just Want To Make Love To You (live)
5. Play With Fire (live)
6. Factory Girl (live)

Single 32
1. Ruby Tuesday (live)
2. Play With Fire (live)
3. Rock And A Hard Place (live)
4. Harlem Shuffle (live)
5. Winning Ugly VI (London Mix)
6. Undercover of The Night (live)

I see that - now. This one has a better subject title! It's more to the point.

Very nice package.

But where's the live version of 2000 Light years from home, released as B-side of Highwire?

It's not included on this new box-set, or am I wrong?

Re: Singles Collection 1971-2006

WOW! You're right! It should have been on the Highwire single! Why is SFTD listed when it wasn't a B-side? At least, I don't recall it being one. Maybe it's a misprint, like the Angie being credited to ABKCO on the back of GHS with UMe.

All Down The Line should be in mono. If it really is the mono single mix I'll definitely have to buy this set.

There's some other stuff (2000 Light Years From Home live was already mentioned) missing as well, like the Jumpin' Jack Flash live single from 1991, but I suppose the ultra-rare items don't qualify.

What puzzles me is that Plundered My Soul wasn't included. Why would that be?
(Please keep the "Didn't you see the '1971 - 2006' subtitle?!" answers to yourselves...)

I recall somebody posting a thread some time ago about why there is no post-1971 Singles Collection. Well, here it is... Although whoever it was probably had something with slightly less discs in mind.

All in all, this looks interesting but expensive.

Great news. But where is the Wild Horses Stripped single? Hope it's a typo. Anyway, a fantastic set!

single 2
1.Wild Horses
2.Sway

This is already on ABKO's 1968-1971 singles collection.

I'm glad to see this. For "Think I'm Going Mad" and any other live or studio B-sides and the decent 12" singles (especially from UNDERCOVER) this is a treat and long overdue.

Yeah, but they use the album mix of Sway. If this box set uses the proper mono mix, it's still better.

Well, the whole point is to recreate the original singles in their original sleeves. If they just threw all these songs into a box set it would lose a lot of its collectors appeal and probably move way less volume, even at a lesser price.

Really glad to finally see "Think I'm Going Mad" released on CD, but if they had put it on the "Rarities" CD like it should have it would saved me a whole lot of money!! Otherwise this set doesn't have too much that's not already been put out a few times.

How well did the three ABKCO singles box sets sell? Agreed, Singles Collection: The London Years already existed by the time of their release, but still.

I can't imagine a 3/4/whatever CD box set selling fewer units than this one. It might generate less money (although I doubt even that), but it'd definitely sell more units.

What's missing :

Before They Make Me Run (Bob Clearmountain remix)
- released in 1978 as 7" single

If I Was A Dancer (Dance Pt. 2)
Dance (dub instrumental)
- both released in 1981 as 12" single

Too Much Blood (Dance version)
Too Much Blood (Dub version)
- both released in 1983 as 12" single

Winning Ugly (NY mix)
- released in 1986 as 12" single

Rock And A Hard Place (Bonus Beats Mix)
Rock And A Hard Place (Oh-Oh Hard Dub Mix)
Rock And A Hard Place (Michael Brauer Mix)
- all released in 1989 on various Rock And A Hard Place CD singles

Almost Hear You Sigh (Remix)
- released in 1989 as CD single

2000 Light Years From Home (Live version)
- released in 1991 as b-side to Highwire

Sexdrive (Dirty Hands mix)
Sexdrive (Club version)
- both released in 1991 on Sexdrive CD single

Tumbling Dice (Live version)
Street Fighting Man( Live version)
- both released in 1991 on Jumpin' Jack Flash CD single (which is missing actually)

Tumbling Dice (Live version 2)
Live With Me (Live version)
- both released in 1996 on Wild Horses CD single

Out Of Control (Don Was Live Remix)
- released in 1998 on Out Of Control CD single

Memory Motel (Live - single version)
Gimme Shelter (Live - single version)
- both released in 1998

Rain Fall Down (Ashley Beedle's "Heavy Disco" Dub Re-Edit)
Rain Fall Down (will.i.am Instrumental)
- released in 2005 on Rain Fall Down CD single

Biggest Mistake (Instrumental)
- released in 2006 on Biggest Mistake CD single

And quite possibly :
The alternate mixes of All Down The Line and Sway released in 1972 and 1971 respectively.

Also they apparently missed the following 7"/Single edit versions :
Wild Horses (1971)
It's Only Rock'n Roll (1974)
Fool To Cry (1976)
Hot Stuff (1976)
Miss You (1978)
Far Away Eyes (1978)
Shattered (1978)
Emotional Rescue (1980)
Waiting On A Friend (1981)
Undercover Of The Night (1983)
She Was Hot (1983)
One Hit (To The Body) (1986)
Mixed Emotions (1989)
Sexdrive (1991)
Streets Of Love (2005)
Biggest Mistake (2006)

wich is rather strange as they included many single edits...

also missing : most of the "radio clean" edits (only Sparks Will Fly is included).

Dance Pt1 - released in 2006 on Biggest Mistake CD single - is actually there. It is just hidden like this:

1. Biggest MistakeDance Pt 1 (live from Paris Olympia 11/07/03)

Lets hope this is not the only typo. And other songs you mentioned are also hidden somewhere confused smiley

There is one big surprise
Single 32
3. Rock And A Hard Place (live) don't recon that one. Maybe it is 2000 LYFH. A copy-paste error.

Also Gimmie Shelter (from Wild Horses 1996) is there. It was reissued on 'Saint of me' single and probably is on Single 40.

Re: Singles Collection 1971-2006

Gimme Shelter on Saint Of Me single is the same as the one on Wild Horses single. But Tumbling Dice and Live With Me are still missing.

They could have included at least 5 more singles (Dance / Too Much Blood / Winning Ugly / Jumpin' Jack Flash / Wild Horses).

Well.... They will be included in very limited superdeluxe lunchbox of singles collection as bonus discs together with SFTD, YCAGWYW and I'm Free remixes. Not to mention Under the Radar and We don't wanna go home as an exclusive DVD. angry smiley

Seconded.

I have all this sh*t plus a few they don't list. I think the NY mix of "Harlem Shufflw" is the only one which has never been issued on CD. Plus, if they're going to issue pricey "singles" then they should use the single mixes consistently. Most are on 40 Licks but that title is OOP.

The One Hit remix has never been on CD, along with the Undercover mixes.

But all those stupid shit "remixes" of the Bridges and Voodoo tracks and the Oh So Grubby Sniff My Ass remixes of RAAHP are totally worthless crap. I bought the Love Is Strong single only for The Storm. Those "remixes" are fffffucking garbage!
