I have a question about some Rolling Stones cd's I bought on ebay and I hope someone can help me out: a few ones (on the VGP and DAC label) have factory pressed cd's in it, but the coverart is on thicker glossy paper. Does that mean the coverart is not the 'original' one (maybe the seller made it himeself)?
Hi, yes sure i can help .. starting with VGP number 40 or so ALL vgp cover art is made of very heavy thick cardboard glossy paper . always high quality picture later in bootleg land european labels made copies by public demand for populair titles.
Dont forget VGP is coming from Japan incl postage and the risk of lost items by customs a double 2cd will fetch around 50-55 euro so a european copy could be sold for half the price .. same recording .. little lesser sound .. poor colour papersleeve.
...mine are indeed printed on high quality paper, but are not always 'folded' properly, as you would expect from 'factory'-pressed coverart. Same for the back coverart.

YEP!!! ... they just don't make bootleg foldin' gals like they use ta ....
Most collectors get the VGP direct from japan CD store, these stores get the artwork just flat like a postcard. and thats how the ship them also most collectors have to put them in a jewlcase themselves .. not everyone is handyman .. lol
