The La's ...
That was a great record, one of my favorites from that year. People always used the Beatles analogy, but except for that hit single, they were more early Stonesy bluesy raw.

REM - Murmur
GnR - Appetite for Destruction
Mats - Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out The Trash
The Clash (US version)
Bangles - All Over The Place

What else?
Maybe X, though I like Wild Gift and More Fun a lot more.
VHI kicks serious ass, but Fair Warning is their best, imo.
EC's My Aim Is True was a blast of fresh air, but he left it in the dust immediately.

Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks
Name your criteria and this album tops it. Rock'n'roll? Attitude? Great songs? Cultural impact? Artistic vision? Simplicity? Lyrics? Riffs? ... The Sex Pistols "Never Mind The Bollocks" was a cultural atomic bomb and is still incredibly listenable today.

Yes, I add this too my post too...with Ian Dury - New boots & Panties...these were the two bookends of the punk thing even though Dury can't even be classed as even a punk as he was so unique........When Ian Dury first saw Johnny Rotten he complained to the guy who took him to the show that Johnny Rotten had nicked his moves even down to the safety pins...Johnny Rotten used to go and watch Ian Dury when he was with Kilburn & the High Roads from about 1974...when Ian first sported the safety pin along with other props designed to compensate for his disabilty (a bit), he was paralysed down one side of his body with polio...............anyway, yes,two of the best albums ever............from what I've read - mutual admiration ended up being the name of the game for both of them...despite the safety pin theft.....

Strange how tame and classic rock it sounds now though.
