I was just thinking that its amazing that Germany has been bypassed in the rock music category. They have pretty much nothing but bar bands and.... but classical is another story.

BTW, for me American music is the real World Music, something that I think all the European and Scandinavian bands mentioned in this thread play as well.

generally, I'm not a big fan of Finnish music, but the current band Michael Monroe has is great, proven by new radio/facebook-only single, "78". They're only 2/5 finnish, tho'. One 100% Finnish band I really like is 22 Pistepirkko.

OK so who is the best Scandinavian band? I live in Australia, and from way over here it looks like the best Scandinavian band is... (looks in telescope)... The Soundtrack Of Our Lives.

In Australia, one of our best bands has been "The Beasts Of Bourbon". They were the closest we have come to having our own Rolling Stones (EDIT: apart from AC/DC of course!). The Beasts were great when they still had a sense of humour, sadly they reformed some years ago and the vibe was bad. But back in the day, they had bad vibes but in a good good way! Youtube-
