I like Ween. When I really need a laugh, I put on 'The F---ed Up Jam' or that Zoloft tune. "Gimme that Z.....o-l-o-f-t..." Hilarious. There was a great interview with those guys in Rolling Stone magazine a couple years back. They were big Stones fans... but a little on the self-indulgent side, imo!

people seem to think ween is a joke band. sure they use humour in their music but they're actually very talented musicians. if you think the stones can play various styles of music, ween can do the same but 20x more and in a more authentic way. dean ween's a fantastic guitarist. gene is a great singer. they kick ass live.

One of the best live bands I have ever seen. Absolutely incredible. Definitely the best guitar solos I have ever heard live. They have a laidback stoner vibe and good humour, they reminded me of what many 60s and 70s bands wanted to be but never actually were.

I don't know how many times they have floored me, really floored me with these perfect pop-songs; worthy of the Beatles.
Then there comes a 8 minute Heavy Metal guitar workout, with Deaner tearing it up; But always very oiriginal.
And then they are so freakin funny.
Too many people think they just do stupid fratboy jokes, but they are excellent.
The "theme" albums are always very true; like the Country e.g.

Incredible band with a Zappa like ability to lampoon or authentically replicate many stryles of music. Very talented musicians and songwriters. Love them and especially the albums The Mollusc and White Pepper.

Yes White Pepper and The Mollusc are fantastic. I saw them play a festival of 10,000 people and blow everyone away. They made 10,000 loyal fans that night including me. International musicians were standing in the wings watching Dean's guitar playing with awe. The audience were actually applauding his solos, you know? He'd drop a beautiful psychedelic guitar solo and it was so soulful you were transported someplace else. They played for 2 hours at the festival, and created an atmosphere that was like one big party. It was real! ...Roses are free!

i've been a long time fan of the band. i finally got up the gusto to see them live in toronto last summer. thye played for over 3 hours, i think i heard every genre of music, they did perfect note by not covers of ohio by csny and lets dance by david bowie. truly one of the best live bands out there.

they truly operate at a level of hilarity most bands don't even know exists. they don't try and sound goofy, they are hiding a joke within a joke within a joke by appearing serious, while at the same time being serious... did that make any sense at all?

no one else does covers like this... and really, of all songs to pick.

ps- i never laughed so much at a concert while at the same time felt like i was being rocked so hard.

also, their keyboard player used to be in blood sweet and tears.

I remember when Beavis and Butthead played the video for "Push The Little Daisies". Tears of laughter.
