JJF has the best chorus ever by Keith/Ronnie/Ian. It's the one where the band stops and Bill has a solo spot with Charlie joining in. Fan-freakin-tastic

(They didn't play in Detroit in 1981)

Yes it's proshot, but no it's not the full show; most of the songs are incomplete
It was circulated via torrent a couple of months ago

I attended the first night at Pontiac. How bizarre to see this perspective 30+ years later. Thank you.

Didn't Keith at one of these shows commandeer the crane? Or was it just that he played a 20 minute solo while jagger was up there? Or both... Would be cool if someone had that on video.

That was supposed to have happened on the '82 tour. Nick Kent is the source.
My theory is that he was too out of it to remember the show and other writers despised him so much
that when he asked for their notes they told him complete crap to see if he'd report it, and he did.
(The tale that Keith hit Ronnie for messing up She's So Cold is in the same category.)

Didn't take a look at that youtube clip before now, as I'm familiar with the torrent/DVD....it's not very enjoyable on youtube, as it has the original sound...
Some clever guy overdubbed the video with the ex soundboard audio that exists, and that's a much more enjoyable watch/listen than the clip above

when the stones are gone there will be a flood of different things ,video of live shows, unreleased songs, behind the scenes stuff, that will dwarf any other rock band thats ever existed.

while other bands have fizzled out the stones have continued on and on touring and recording for decades.

we may not be getting new records but there has to be a ton of material just sitting there, remember ronnie saying they had like 40 songs ready to go a couple of years ago?

the legacy they leave is gonna be unbelievable.

Fantastic!

That's it! I think the Stones should release every single concert they've ever made on CD and DVD (blu-ray preferable). Like Pearl Jam did a while back with concerts from a tour (?), but in this case every tour, every single show. I demand it!!! smiling bouncing smiley

p.s. Charlie had that boogaloo beat down pat in '81. Clear proof of rock (& roll)'s greatest drummer. Some Stones fans like to say they were at their peak c. 72, but Charlie got better later on, c. 78-81.

Thank you for posting this. I was there, Silver Dome, '81. At the end of the show, the stage curtains on the right side caught on fire. Any one else see this? Carlos was great. Iggy Poppster, well, almost everything that a human can wear was on the stage.
