Just saw a ad banner for GRRR and it said Doom And Gloom was a #1 hit.

It was? On what?

According to Wikipedia, it hit #1 on Canada's "Active Rock (America's Music Charts)" chart. Whatever that is.

I don't think so but who cares it's a great classic Rolling Stones rocker and aged
very well.

I still don't get tired listen to Doom and Gloom and they play so well live, a real audience pleaser.

And I noticed that the young generation (teenagers, 20's) just love it very much.

I think a song has to be at least a year old to become a classic. But sure, it has aged very well in those months.

It might get a boost in a few days when Die Hard 5 gets released on DVD—June 4 in the States—because "Doom and Gloom" plays over the closing credits.

The question mark in the subject line needs to be changed to an exclamation point!

Say what you will about D&G, I had the radio edit blasting in my car tonight and it brought back a lot of happy memories from the fall, the BBC first play, the rehearsals in Bondy, the Trabendo...PRICELESS !

Was the version with Frank Beard on drums more successful?

Let's put Geraldo on it - maybe he can have another special for this like he did for Capone's vault.

aaawwwwshit man now ya pumpin' me .... it stayed in the head for somewhere like a couple of weeks till the GRR set turned up and the great looseness One More Shot took over and had an equal run ... then that gem from Lloyd & The Groovers -- My Heart And Soul turned up ....

Doom and Gloom was number 1 with a bullet upon its release on IORR online radio, and anyone who thought otherwise was told to "go away", which left only its rabid fans to support it endlessly so that it has now become an all-time classic and greatest hit and, possibly, even a concert "warhorse"....

....even though The Stones themselves won't be playing it on their next tour, by which time GRRR! will be already out of print.

it's the rolling stones... pretending to be the rolling stones. that's the feeling i get when i hear those songs. like they are trying to imitate themselves.
