Absolutley... and dont forget to pick 2-3 songs off of Bigger Bang too.
Every Stones album ever made has some great songs and some clunker songs, it is the way they are. I love all Stones music from 1963 all the way up to the 2 new songs. I have never been one of these "cut it into segments, slice it and dice it, and then over-analyze the shit out of it until you are bored with it, and eventually hate it and then relish talking crap about it" type of people.
I simply listen to the music (I DON'T over-listen to it, and I certainly don't analyze it under a micoscope) and I like some of the songs and I dont like some of the songs... and I would bet that if the general music listening public would give the newer albums (and all aStones albums) a chance they would like some songs on them quite a bit, and then they would twist and shout to them in concert and that would make Mick happy and then the Stones would/could happily play songs from every Stones decade.
Cool man, I do undertsand the musician aspect, it can be dangerous. Although VL gets a lot of flak around here, but I will always have a fond spot in my heart for most of the songs that album and the good good times surrounding it.Quote

Right on Max.....guilty here. I as many on here do, play guitar, and it is difficult at times to listen as a fan, or even as a whole......we here bass, Ronnie, Keith.....etc. at times I envy non musicians for this. That said, I have an enormous weakness for Voodoo Lounge. Saw them in 89' and loved it, first show, but it did have the Vegas feel. I felt like they kind of knew it, and came out swinging in 94'. More guitars, less horns and songs that sounded like they were written for the road. I saw them early, in Cleveland(anyone catch that show?), about a week before Giant stadium. I think they played 6-7 VL tracks, and I dug nearly all of them. As a footnote, they were still opening the, "Voodoo section" with LIS at that point, dropping it for Sympathy was a mistake. LIS hits hard. And was a dark hard intro ingo that section. I felt Sympathy tookto long to get going to make the transition affective.
If anyone has info on a boot of Cleve 94' I would appreciate any help!

the stones know what they are doing....ignoring the past half-dozen albums is the way to go...just like the vast majority of the ticket buyers do. kudos to all involved.

I liked them doing Sympathy as an intro to the Voodoo Lounge,
all those voodoo charms droping down, and Mick comes out with
his voodoo gitup on, and singing Sympathy... I loved it! Good times

Have you seen/heard the way it came off with LIS? I love the concept either way, but LIS reinforced the change by having a hard hitting intro......all opinion though, good either way.
