Thanks Rolling hansie (and others) for the well wishes. I wasn't directly impacted by the flooding but there will be long term ramifications for Australia. I guess sometimes even Mother Nature has to kick out the jams.

So it's....it's Katrina times, what, I keep hearing that it's - it's huge - way way waaaaay bigger than New Orleans - of course - but aside from it being a hurricane for the reason why, it's still water...flooding...mud...shit everywhere.
But this has been going on for a while. What the hell? What do the weather heads say? La Nina? El Nino? La Nada? El or La Something Else? Just a ton of rain...
Haiti, Chile...it never ends. Wish I could help somehow.

Thanks Rocky. Just watching on tele. They said there will be a six metre tidal surge. Winds from 250 km to 400 km per hour. They are saying it will wield the power of an atom bomb. I'm out of the damage zone unless it heads south (although it is 1,000 klm - end to end).

Thamks Rockman - we live roughly 1000 kms from Cairns and are getting bursts of very heavy rain and gusty winds.My parents live up there - hope everybody gets through this ok and no lives are lost. What an incredible last few weeks it has been.Cheers.

Best of luck to all you guys on the east coast.Got some relatives in Brisbane and further south.Spent some time up in Cairns and Townsville many years ago. The cyclone is getting a lot of coverage over here in the U.K. We are all thinking of you back here.

Well it looks like Victoria maybe in for more flooding due to Yasi now being a rain depression.Lot of rain in it - hope you'll be right Rockman. Thanks for the pics mate - I know the affected areas,could have been a lot worse.
