Because that's a very smart business tactic. Doing an event or lanch of a product where the first people pay a premium price. And then later when the price then is discounted/being set at the normal rate, it seems like and feels like a bargain.
Like I thought $200-ish for front of stage at the last tour was steep and I'm as hardcore a fan as they come. Now I'm already thinking damn... $200 would be a bargain :-)
I use this "tactic" myself all the time with seminars and coaching and it works really well.

Well it has just been announced that it will re-open in July with a string of Rock concerts,
Boris Johnson (London Mayor) said before Christmas that he wanted it to be multi-use and that it had great accustics for Rock concerts.
Stranger things have happened so why not The Stones open the venue in July, after seeing the olympics and all the music it did certainly have a really good sound.

That will NEVER happen!!! Ticket prices have reached a new high! What makes you think the Stones would EVER lower them NOW?
