Favorite moment last night

The whole show was great, but I found myself torn between "Goin Down" and a blazing "Jumpin' Jack Flash". JJF was played more immediate last night than on the 12-12-12 concert. Seemed very loose for that show.

What was your favorite performance from last night's PPV?

Bruce on TD for me.

Impossible to pick just one. There were hundreds of unforgettable moments last night. A show for the ages. If this is it then they have certainly gone out on the highest of highs - out in a blaze of glory, if you will.

Amazing and I agree.

I was not in favor of Bruce as a special guest, and I honestly am tired of TD live but that version was crazy good!

Loads of them , but one brief moment that stands out was when Mick T and Keith leaned into each other, deep in the groove during Rambler.

Oh and one other thing.......

Without a doubt, Jumpin Jack Flash. Keith and Ronnie were in great form, as was Mick and Charlie. I am hoping for a DVD and music download from that concert.

GDown with Mayer and "the new kid" Jr. thumbs up
WDYLove with two drummers worked well too.

But overall and imho I think the Stones were tighter for the London shows...
Imho again MT's return brought hardly anything : last night's Rambler was going nowhere at all.

I think it's odd that you would feel that way about Taylor's cameo. It's your opinion though. I thought it was great and easily the highlight of the show for me. Also loved it that he took a final bow with the Stones. I didn't know Taylor was gonna play with them. I had no idea Taylor had been playing with them at previous shows. I hadn't been haning around IORR for quite awhile now and I don't have internet access at my home at the moment. But watching the PPV and having Taylor come on for "Midnight Rambler" was a complete surprise for me and totally made my night.

I got a compliment from Michelle Malone about my playing last weekend. My band opened for her band last Saturday night and she went out of her way after the show to compliment me on my playing (as did her drummer) and said it reminded her of Mick Taylor. That was a huge compliment for me and meant alot coming from an artist whose music I admire. So when I was watching the PPV with my girl (who's not a hardcore fan and didn't know who Taylor is), and Mick Taylor came on, and I said "do you remember what Michelle Malone said about my playing reminding her of Mick Taylor's? Well that's Mick Taylor!"

Overall though, I thought it was a good show. Thought they were alot better last night than they were at the 12-12-12 show. I thought the inclusion of Lady Gaga on "Gimme Shelter" was awful. But otherwise, I really liked it with the highlight of the night being Mick Taylor's guest spot.

The highlight was early-ish in the show; I cant recall which number. But they were still at midtempo; and I confess - I was getting a bit worried. I see now, that the entire show has been taken in, that, as usual, the Stones were right on, and it is all about pacing.
Anyway - so we're early on, and all the sudden it looked like Jagger was by sheer force, willing the show into high gear. He runs up to stage front, and starts slinging,k whipping either a scarf or some jacket or shirt over his head; real hard. That was my favorite moment.
And the Black Keys. That was a genuine rockin jam.

DITTO, DITTO, DITTO.
I loved the vibe with Mick T. It was so wonderful. Was it just me or did you see a tear in his eye? It was lovely.
Bruce rocked hard with the boys and it was so cool to see Mick & Bruce sharing the same mic.
I'm re-watching it now so I know I'll have more (especially since I'm no longer in altered state).smoking smiley

1. Midnight Rambler with Taylor

2. Dead Flowers with Ronnie and Keith's wonderful twang.

3. Final bow. Taylor embraced by his bandmates and brought back into the fold, symbolically.

Funny how some people differ. midnight Rambler by far was the highlight for me last night someone above did not think much of it.....

Gimme Shelter with Lady GaGa kicked things up to the next level. (Plus I love knowing all the creeps out there who knock her were throwing up).

Ronnie, on Going Down, when he ripped off a solo to show the others how it was done. Ronnie, part two, when he blew the Black Keys off the stage during the Bo Diddley number.

You Can't Always Get What You Want was special.

Charlie.

Mick.

Everybody on Midnight Rambler.

Guest moment: Gary Clark Jr.!

I didn't think it was possible anymore to find younger musicians taking the essence of the roots, adding it into their style the way Clark did. Simply amazing thumbs up

Mick's singing on GOOMC has to be the best ever. Ronnie did an amazing solo on YCAGWYW. Taylor was brilliant on Midnight Rambler. Keith has turned Before They Make Me Run into one of the best songs in the set on this tour!

Lots of them, one in particular: Keith is soloing on Satisfaction and Jagger just returned to the stage - the band is grooving and Keith is pumping it up as only he can, well there are a couple of seconds where you see Mick glaring at Keith, totally carried away by the music, expressing it with all his body with a smile on his face and in his eyes that was exactly the same smile everybody else in the house had stamped on their faces!
