Clearly someone is impressed in the studio after her "Murder" so nicely shouted
You noticed it. There is a kind of "waouh" .... recorded on the tape. Who ?

"we know it's a bit late but we hope you don't mind if we stay"

That's Jagger, sounds like a "yeah!"

Ms. Clayton said Jagger was impressed with how high she could sing and tried to follow her voice, which made her laugh. She was heavily pregnant when she recorded that vocal.

(I didn't use any name in the clip because it looks like every time I upload some thing from the multi track recordings it will be removed by You Tube)

Definatly Jagger

I'm not doubting you, but how can you say with such conviction that it's "definitely Jagger"??? It could be anyone.

Great thread. I have always thought the 2 whoops is Keith. It sounds like Keith to me.

Since it's unanimous that it's Mick, I will give it another listen, but for the moment I'm sticking with: it's Keith smiling smiley

I've listened to it on some really top of the range speakers at a considerable volume and it's Jagger, you can tell by the voice and the way he does the whoop - Keith doesn't whoop and I doubt would have done at that particular era in the studio. I can't be 100%, but I'd say 98% Jagger

Bill - definitely Bill. Apparently he was a madman in the studio - jumping around and whooping. It was only on stage that he stood motionless.

Ah! All right. You're right! Mick Taylor it was then! Even though he didn't play on Gimme Shelter, he was obviously there, giving Merry a lot of support since she obviously needed it...

Assuming Bonnie didn't pass the contest neither did Keith (at least I don't here him on the original GS) only Mick and Merry are singing on GS so it must be Mick........................

Would love to hear the Bonnie Bramlett version................................
