I always thought a traditional New Orleans type funeral would be cool. You know, the brass band plays a slow, slow, slow dirge on the way to the cemetery with all the mourners walking slowly behind; then on the way back it's a celebration with the band playing some hot uptempo New Orleans jazz and swing with everyone dancing, drinking and having a good time.

I wrote a short story recently about the death and funeral of an East End Gangster.His all time favourite song was Sympathy for the Devil.As the coffin slowly dissappeared in the cremetorium and people walking out into the sunshine,it was played.A very fitting choice by his wife.

i am so glad we had this time together(carol burnett used to close her show with this), this is the end(the doors), around and around(chuck berry,the rolling stones ,and the gratefull dead)satisfaction (jagger/richards)
