He's Gone and nothings gonna bring him back!
Rat in a drain ditch, caught on a limb, you know better but I know him.
Like I told you, what I said, Steal your face right off your head.

Now he's gone, now he's gone, Lord he's gone, he's gone.
Like a steam locomotive, rollin' down the track
He's gone, gone, nothin's gonna bring him back...He's gone.

Nine mile skid on a ten mile ride, hot as a pistol but cool inside.
Cat on a tin roof, dogs in a pile,
Nothin' left to do but smile, smile, smile!!!!

Now he's gone, now he's gone Lord he's gone, he's gone.
Like a steam locomotive, rollin' down the track
He's gone, gone, nothin's gonna bring him back...He's gone.

Goin' where the wind don't blow so strange,
Maybe off on some high cold mountain chain.
Lost one round but the price wasn't anything,
A knife in the back and more of the same.

Same old, rat in a drain ditch, caught on a limb,
I know better but you know him.
Like I told you, what I said,
Steal your face right off your head.

Now he's gone, now he's gone Lord he's gone, he's gone.
Like a steam locomotive, rollin' down the track
He's gone, gone, nothin's gonna bring him back...He's gone.

Ooh, nothin's gonna bring him back.

If my wife is still around, I want them to play (for her), "RUN," by Snow Patrol.

No Hymns or anything to do with religion
Just Highway To Hell (loud!) as I go down to get cremated

I always thought a traditional New Orleans type funeral would be cool. You know, the brass band plays a slow, slow, slow dirge on the way to the cemetery with all the mourners walking slowly behind; then on the way back it's a celebration with the band playing some hot uptempo New Orleans jazz and swing with everyone dancing, drinking and having a good time.

I wrote a short story recently about the death and funeral of an East End Gangster. His all time favourite song was Sympathy for the Devil. As the coffin slowly dissappeared in the cremetorium and people walking out into the sunshine,it was played.A very fitting choice by his wife.smoking smiley

GREAT song, Ablett. Good choice. The wife and I always drink to that song in the fall.
