This is the May 1-2, 1986 filming of the One Hit (To The Body) promotional video. Charlie doesn't appear wasted and unshaven as he does in other Dirty Work promo shots of the period. Perhaps he had recovered by then.

Charlie, King of fashion, Leather jacket w/ collar turned up over a v-necked sweater. LOVE IT! And to think someone thought he wasn't messed up at the time.

Peace,
Mr DJA

Charlie looks good as a doper and boozer
No matter how much leather you pile on Bill; by the 80's he was always going to look like a goof.

Nice pics, thanks, I remember a lot was made in 1986 of that "fight" during the video, especially after Nick Kent's article got published, for those who read French it can be found here :

Ha Steve Lillywhite doing everything he can NOT to mention how the recording sessions went down!

I wonder what kind of ordeal he actually went through : CW's alarming drug intake and departure from the sessions, Mick and Keef's war, Jimmy Page insisting on being paid for the "One Hit" guitar solo, or the worst of all, Chuck Leavell bringing song embryos to the studio... >grinning smiley<

You're quite welcome for that Libé article. I was quite shocked when a friend passed it to me especially since it came soon after the heralded DW "return to form" (fans will be believe anything positive they read!)...

Where did you read about Jimmy Page insisting on getting paid ? I seem to remember a story with Womack where he wasn't too happy how things turned out for him during these sessions ? I guess he can be heard a bit in "Harlem Shuffle" with that loud "HEY" (I thought it was Keith at first). As for Lillywhite, yes, you have to wonder if he did anything at all in the studio, a bit like Babyface for B2B's "Already Over Me" that Keith says (or implies) in his book that he was the one who had to get rid of him as Mick was in a fix...
