A couple of months back you said you were going to Vegas for a week in September. How did it go? Did you survive? Give us a report !

i think you're confusing lexington, texas with lexington, massachusetts.

I think you're confusing Durban with Derby.

He's talking about me, but your right it's got nothing to do with the Stones (like many other threads)! Should be OT.

Hey Drake, were you the one who use to have the Stones listening parties at your studio a few years ago? Still have them? OK we are back on topic!smoking smiley

Yeah made it there (and back home) and had a great time, thanks.

Some highlights were:

Beatles: Love at the Mirage - Expensive but worth every penny. Was at the 3000th show (opened June 30, 2006) - gave everyone a 3000th show poster of the event. Was talking to one of the ushers before the show and he was telling me all the celebrities he sees. McCartney came by for a second time since the open. Would see it again and highly recommend it to anyone going.

Criss Angel: Believe at the Luxor - Very good but not out standing. Good illusions but no motorcycle stunts inside. A lot of fluff between illusions. Once is enough.

LeReve : The Dream at the Wynn - Water based show, I liked it, my wife picked this one out.

Went up the Eiffel Tower at dusk (perfect time, pay the day rate) and saw the Bellagio Water Show from there (also saw it from the ground).

Titanic and Bodies Exhibitions at the Luxor - I enjoyed it. A lot of items that was retrieved from the Titanic's resting place were on display including a large section of the ship itself. Eerie!

Madame Tussauds at the Venetian - Cool place to visit.

Gold & Silver pawn shop - Where they film the Pawn Stars show, place was packed but none of the guys were there.

Hoover Dam - Very hot but cool place to visit if never been there.

Hard Rock for dinner but the famous pool was closed at night.

Went to get tickets for Santana but something like $400 a ticket, so we passed.

Didn't get over to the Grand Canyon or up to old Las Vegas on Fremont Street. Next time.

If the Stones play there next year, will definitely try and get tickets. What better place to see the Vegas Stones than in Las Vegas.drinking smiley

Ahh! Clarification! Very cool summary on your trip to Vegas.

And yes, we used to have some fun listening parties at my old studio. The best was the post-show party after the Louisville 02 gig at Churchill Downs. I loaded up my recording of the concert, blasted it through the PA and mixed it as we listened. All kicking back and relaxing. Very fun. Although the all day party at Stonedog's house was by far the best Stones related party I have ever been to.

We havent't done any listening parties in a long time, purely because I have been too busy. Good problem to have!

Pawn Stars - None of the guys were there? Any reason for that? I would assume they simply don't want to talk to everyone.

Thanks for replying. It's sounds like you saw a lot and did a lot. That's good. Did you ever, by chance, find any of those "Gigantic Sevens" slot machines I told you about? Did you check out the Aria casino and Cosmopolitan casino in City Center where Veer (the 2 leaning buildings) are? What were your outstanding meals/restaurants.

I think the old ball and chain and I will go Feb 8 for The Who at the Hard Rock.

Peace , Out !

......and I thought "whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas."

I'd better stay away from that place.

I asked one of the guys working there and he said something like they are the business executives and only come on the floor during the shoots. They only let a few customers in to cut down on the noise. I asked him if he ever gets on camera and he said a few times in the background. And your right, they probably would end up in endless conversations about the show and endless requests for photos. I was there for about an hour and there must have been 50 customers there at any given time (its actually pretty small)...
