Songs I wish the Stones had written

I think this game has been played before but lets start it again.
Just got turned on to this song from the Raconteurs.
Fits anywhere between Let it Bleed to Exile.
It's a great song that has a real soulfulness.
Maybe if the Stones dump Don Was and hook up with Jack White
he can get this kinda vibe out of them.

"Pull This Blanket Off "

Pull this blanket off of me
Maybe it will help me see
The things I believed to be true
I'm paying for what should be free
But I don't buy what their telling me
And I want to believe in you

It's hard sticking to your guns
When everybody's having fun
Makes me want to run
I don't know what to do

Not everything is what it seems
Maybe these boys don't have dreams
I can't blame them some dreams are worth damn but truth

Any number of Warren Zevon songs could have been Stones songs with a little re-working.

Things to do in Denver When You're Dead would've been good.

How about songs I wish the Stones hadn't written, i.e., anything from Dirty Work on.

...or change it to 'songs I thought the Stones had written' and I give you:

Confessin the blues
Time is on my side
It's all over now
Prodigal son
Anybody seen my baby

Paul Anka didn't write that song, he made the English lyrics, the original is in French.

Yep My Way-Comme d'habitude-Jacques Revaux-Claude François-Gilles Thibaut...
but I guess Sinatra and Anka gave it a bigger aura than those french guys did...

I wish Stones had written the english version...smoking smiley
