IMO he does not make those guitar sound like they should
he always colors the sound with the amps he uses like a vox
he should plug into a clean fender if you want the un colored sound
of the guitar.
plus the prices are thee highest of any shop I know of.

The guitars are nice and he's a good player, but I find the guy to be an annoying "rock dork". Who likely got lucky in getting a job selling guitars in a high end boutique.

The funny thing is that the combination of Phil X and th recording method makes all guitars sound the same...close your eyes, start a clip after 30 seconds and try to guess which guitar Phil is playing. If its Zep he's playing it most likely is a Gibson, if its not Zep its another guitar!

I think it's the goal with them to make every guitar sound the same though, because he's putting them through a custom-made amp they sell. It seems the videos are as much an ad for the amp, as they are the guitars. I don't think he's letting their true characteristics come through by making them one trick ponies with that amp.

He uses a 1964 Vox AC30 and a 1954 Fender Deluxe as well.

Nope, he's a session musician, mainly.
