Lovely soul song with the classic British blues Stones tinge. One of their perfect concoctions. . .

Early Stones at their best.
Great lyrics, excellent singing, and the guitar solo still soars after all these years.
Absolute essential Stones tune.

They did a pretty damn good raunchy version of it on the LICKS tour according to the bootleg I have!

Check above. More raunchy than good, imo, but nice just the same smiling smiley

hot stuff
The original is more bluesy while the one with Page playing it, has much more of a rock sound to it..

Wasn't the version with Page recorded before the actual Stones take? I have read that Keith copied Page's solo.

Yeah,Big Al thats correct. And Keith did copy Page's lead note for note.

I wish people would stop saying that, when it's not true smiling smiley

LOL, I'm so glad someone else hear what I have always heard. Yes, Keith has said he copied it, but it never sounded all that similar to me.

Not note for note, but there are some shared elements. Is the solo not influenced by a solo from a different version to the one posted above?

Keith's is way better anyway. grinning smiley

That's the one I have. It's good. It's a thousand times better than a lot of songs they've done over the years whether rare or normal: Sway, She Was Hot, Respectable, Undercover Of The Night, Honky Tonk Women, Jumpin' Jack Flash, SFTD, Start Me Up...

I like it, too. Don't get me wrong smiling smiley

If they had done it a few more times it would have been great.
