Hypothetically speaking I wouldn't mind someone to fill Keith's shoes for one night, just to hear what the sound would be like and how the songs would be. I think it would give you a bigger understanding of the dynamics of Keith's playing within the Stones.

Interesting idea, but they should do it on a free TV program.
I know I wouldn't pay to see that.

It would most likely sound like Jagger's Japanese tour

"Well my heavy throbbers itchin' just to lay a solid rhythm down"

I believe Jimmy Phelge tells a story about "Eric The Mod" standing in for MJ for one show in the early days.

If one of The Stones was replaced just for one concert I think it would do more good than harm.OK ya' might get a few fans that would probably think twice about going to it.But ya' would get alot that would want to go and I would be one of them to that one off concert just for curiosity.. and that show would probably be filmed and come out on DVD.

What would it be, without Mick Jagger and Keith Richards sings leadvocals the whole evening. How many people want their money back, when this would happened? Honestly, I think nearly everyone; except the ones with free tickets.

Charlie was replaced one time in the sixties, I read somewhere - maybe Wyman's Stone Alone

He was on holiday in Gibraltar, could't make in time

I believe the author (Wyman?) poke fun about how little Jagger paid the drummer who replaced Charlie

>> Charlie was replaced one time in the sixties <<

yeah, that's the incident in 64 that i mentioned on page 1.
Jimmy Phelge wrote about it in Nankering with the Stones, although it's been written about elsewhere too.
Mick Waller was paid union wages for the gig, rather than the share Charlie would've received.
seems normal to me ...

Yea, I wouldn't want to see that band if it was still supposed to be called The Stones. I mean I would probably go, I would not miss a chance to hear and see Mick and Charlie, but they should not be called The Rolling Stones.

Marhsall, you can listen to anything from Mick's solo tour. The guitars sound nothing like Keith. Of course another drummes makes a huge difference in the sound and the whole feel of the music.

This anti-Charlie could shake things up:
