If you're thinking about his half sentence comment about someones little "Willy", even that was part of a compliment. I'm quite sure you haven't read the book he wrote, because if you had, you would have noticed that on a lot of other pages, he declares his love for Mick. His skills, the old friendship, his work. Please - read it - and get the whole picture - not just the tabloid crap version with stuff that made good and scandalous headlines. If you don't want to buy it - borrow it at the library, because it's quite stupid when people who obviously haven't read the book have strong opinions about it.

If somebody bashes an untouchable player like John mc'Laughlin,or some other great player,I would agree.
To me it's just sad to see how musicians ruined their health,an cannot play decent anymore, even at a relatively young age, but still keeping up the appearance.
A player should be ambitious: poor or rich, talented or just a good artist.
Or just quit and don't ask money if you want to please people with your music.

Oh by the way I'm not a Keith basher just disappointed that he's lost his way a bit. Can only be expected after you've pumped yourself full of drugs, fallen out of a tree, believe your own myth etc, etc.
In other words you're disappointed that he had an accident and swollen finger joints.
That's generaous.

His swollen finger joints are because of drinking too much so yeah I am disappointed......probably fell out of the tree because he was drunk.
I picked up the guitar because of Keith, I started listening to Muddy Waters et al because of Keith, I have had a lot of joy from his songwriting and playing and his gigs. But I am disappointed in his deterioration as a guitar player and his insistence on still mugging up being Keef the slurring rock star.

Sorry how am I egocentric by being disappointed or sad? I don't understand. It's not about me or myself (egocentricity) it's about Keith. No offence taken by the way.
I am not a basher just an ordinary fan.
Laters dudes.

And the criticism of criticism of criticism. And the critisismm of... blah blah blah...
But honestly Bärs, I have seen your point(s) by now, and I don't see any reason to to discuss with you any further or longer. Does not leading constructively anywhere. Just to banned posts and bad feelings. I hope you can ignore my contributions as well. Just to keep the site out of non-needed bullshit.
This is the last meta-level bullshit remark I have to say. I hope you can respect that.

He is playing many bum notes as well
I've been listening to McLaughlin quite a lot lately. I find his work on the Tribute To Jack Johnson-album quite interesting. He almost plays rock'n'roll in there. The first riffs are very heavy metal. Then he smoothly moves over to jazzy stuff.
I find him most interesting when he's playing within a song, instead of doing pointless runs up and down the fretboard, though. The "look what I can do-stuff" has little to do with good songs, imo.
Jack Johnson is a great album, and Mc Laughlin is a great guitar player. He did some good stuff. Does he write music anymore, and where is he?

Cmon Addicted is that really you?.
I bet you're disappointed, Ropeni.
That one's probably written by a relatively young fan.
I'm just an old hag, remember!

So at least one of the boys is prepared...
This was a recent remark by a fan in reference to Ronnie Wood's solo performances. The other boy would have to be Keith.
We all know that Keith is one of the most highly regared guitarists in the world, probably in the top 5 or 10 in the world. He has received accolades from many well-known and talented musicians, who have been blown away by his unique style. He also received praise for his work on A Bigger Bang, from professional critics as well as us ordinary fans. Some would say he was and still is the best ever.
I have a theory. Most Keith Bashers are musicians whose careers are going nowhere, who wish they could achieve stardom, and who have failed to achieve any measure of greatness in music. The name for this feeling is: Jealousy.
Prove me wrong out there, Keith Bashers. Tell me the name of your rock group, the name of your most recent CD, or your last concert appearance. Show us your latest Youtube video. Show us that you are more than mere talk and that you are more than a mere troll on this iorr.org website.

I've never understood the conception of a guitar player having to play very difficult and advanced stuff to be a great guitar player. Those things have not much to do with eachother, imo.
To me, a great guitar player:
- creates his/her own, unique sound.
- tranfers this sound to great songs, in which he/she participates in writing (A necessity, imo).
- developes the sound to a signature tone
- uses his/her uniqueness to master different styles, but still maintains the sound/tone.
- is recognisable after a few seconds

So stifle it Flimflam
I don't really mind that, on the contrary: that's the charm with it! What I don't like is the non-playing, excessive grimasing, "noodling" and arrogant sloppiness. That is because the end product damages from it.Quote

I hate when people go to concerts and expect perfection and want it to sound like the album,,, raw sound with mistakes,, missed cues, ect ,,
