You could see a never seen picture (for me) of Mick drinking a beer at the pathe-marconi's studios with a french band called FACTORY. Emotional rescue sessions.

Allons,allons,Aprilfool ......relax . smiling smiley

No doubt that "Life" in French is pretty good .My great friend Honestman already told me about that.
The point is-and you were right is that the reading in English might not be worth while.
I began to read it in English and even didn't finish chapter one .....
I might follow you and read it in French .

I thought english was the official language on this board, wasn't that what BV said.

So better stick with it +it it should be an act of courtesy to talk here in a language understandable for all.
Thanks.

If bv decides to edit the posts above, well,he will edit it.
Although some posts on IORR aren't ALWAYS english one's ,I've noticedtongue sticking out smiley

Roadster, when it's Stones related,I always write in English(or if I write something in French,I always translate it low in English)

What aprilfool & myself wrote in French only concerns the two of us,it's not Stones related, that's why I didn't translate it in English.
Hope I clarified.

I know the band Factory a little bit. I saw them many times and met them many times in many places (bars...) when I was a teenager. The members of this band were (are) real fans of The Rolling Stones and they were very talentuous. I went to Yves Matrat's house few years ago to buy him a CD's of this band.

These guys (Factory) were the best rock'n roll band in France and they were real rockers and very nice people. Some of their songs are very very great, other bands would have made million dollars with some of them. But this band were not from Paris and in France, at these times, you cannot be famous if you are not involved with Paris. Too bad for them... but their songs will stay in my heart and my head.

I will always remember the bassist (Fourmi if I remember well) saying to me that he had smoked some joints with Keith when they met the Stones the day this picture was taken. It has impressed me a lot (I was only fourteen !!). Fourmi died in a car crash, may he rest in peace.

If you want to understand it, you can copy and paste it in to Google translation.
If 1 out of 10.000 posts are in another language, I can't see any problem.
It should also be an act of courtesy to acknowledge the few times it happens - people writing in French / Spanish or Dutch.

You're right, not being from Paris is one of the explanation why they didn't become more famous.
Although "L'affaire Louis Trio" became famous .My BF was a saxophonist and we would meet Ceet Boris quite often .

Do you remember Little Bob Story ? And Marquis de Sade ?.There were many good French rock bands, back in these days .

Dont' dream, rock'nroll and rude music is definitively not a priority for the french medias and in first for TV channels. In 2010, we can watch millions of different channels and nothing about music. In the seventies, there was only 3 channels but great music programs with people very involed. Remember in the past the links between France and the Stones. All these shows recorded by TV or radios. Don't forget these great guy, Freddy Hausser and for the french, TV programs like "juke box" or "Rapido". Now it's over, I'm not surprised by the short aired interviews of Keith. This is the time of the Reality shows and all these shits. Don't dream anymore.

My thoughts into words.Freddy Hausser was the man -what a loss !
I miss these programs like Juke Box.I miss bernard Lenoir and Feeback.

Now what we've got on the French TV ? These stupid reality shows.

I am not from Paris but I was born in St Etienne and I lived in Rive-de-Gier near Givors where the band factory is coming from. I have seen Factory live many times and I met the members of Factory in many places and each times it was very nice to meet them.

I remember Ganafoul and Marquis de Sade very well, I have seen them live many times. I don't remember his name, but the singer of Marquis de Sade became a very sucessful singer few year later. In Saint-Etienne were also a band called "Les i", in Lyon "Starshooter" whose lead singer is Kent (still a singer and he also writes comics).

I went to Yves Matrat's house few years ago to buy him few Cds of Factory. He was still very pleasant and very smart...

I have seen Factory in an auditorium when they played the famous theatre play "Cache ta joie". It was in a tiny place used to play classical music, jazz and theatre (la Comédie de Saint-Etienne). A curious place to play rock'n roll but the sound was soooo excellent (when compared to stadium or big arena) and the music so good that is was absolutely wonderful. A beautiful accoustic... Sometimes I feel that rock'n roll commits an auto-wasting and that sometimes rockers should play in places where the accoustic is excellent, like auditorium prepared for classical music.

Thank you for the link to the thread. I didn't know that Yves matrat has the key of Keith Richards's Bentley.. very funny. Yves Matrat is still singing, here is his website : [www.yvesmatrat.com]
