I've heard these are made from high resolution digital files, meaning they should sound better than the CD's.

the second box arrived today. my first thoughts: not THAT great repros. some have the original inner sleeves some not (who decided and why?) Dirty work without the pink wrap around is half the fun! Undercover has the lyric sheet, Tatoo you don´t etc. the sound thogh is quite good. sticky has no zipper, would have been not that difficult, there are so many zipper versions out but if the cannot make the inners right, so maybe it´s better there is no zipper. on voodoolounge now with mean disposition, the running times of the songs is different than on the original lps, more later

bluesinc., please make a follow-up. Thanks

a, sorry for delay. about the time : Most of the songs on Voodoo Lounge have a different running time printed Tru & Tru 5.59 instead of 6.00 Love is strong 3.46 instead of 3.48 etc I go wild has a difference of 4 seconds. The times on the inner sleeve of Steel Wheels are removed and most of the times on the labels are also not printed anymore.
BUT NOW: on Tattoo You now there is the long version from the CD pressing and on Undercover there is the long version of Wanna hold you & also Luxury has the long edit on IORR

I was a bit surprised when visiting my local record store today. This is the same vinyl-junkie place I happily bought box 1 in ..what...december or something.

Box 1 is now up $180 (1000 Norwegian kroner, thats NOK2300 a total of $412) and box 2 up about $140 (800 kroner, total $466).

When I asked if the reason was he was a specialist shop and couldn´t compete with Amazon et al anymore he replied that Universal (Norway) has stopped distributing them and the boxes had become more of a collectors thing.

I guess a steep price like that makes it even less of a spontanity-buy or anniversary gift option for many.

Still, such new objects and no distribution already?

Been a stones fan for 21 years, got into 'em when I was 20 and am now 36 over those years I've collected their LP's on vinyl

Monkeytonkman: "got into 'em at 20" + "stones fan for 21 years" = now "36" (yrs old) Doesn't add up son. winking smiley

So...you either became a Stones fan at age 15 (not 20)....or you are currently 41 (& not 36). ???

Or none of the above.

Bit late to to reply, but thought I'd clear it up.

Was 15 when I got into the Stones, 36, not 41.

I've posted a couple of times now, that on Amazon.de you can get the ABKCO Box for 129 Euro's, and the 71-2005 box for about 154 Euro's.
You need to put it in your cart, and they will discount it further, prior to your payment.

THAT is the way to go if you want both boxsets!
