Sounds like bullshit but here it is :

Keith Richards, Macca create musical collaboration
London, Wed, 27 Oct 2010ANI

London, Oct 27 (ANI): Keith Richards and Sir Paul McCartney, whose bands were the biggest rivals in the Sixties, have now made a musical collaboration.

The Rolling Stones guitarist, whose memoir Life was released yesterday, said he and the former Beatle recently met up on holiday and ended up composing together.

"We were really pleased to see each other," the Daily Express quoted Richards as saying.

"We fell straight in talking about the past, talking about songwriting. He told me because he was left-handed he and John Lennon could play the guitars like mirrors opposite each other, watching each other's hands.

"So we started playing like that. We started composing a song together, a McCartney/Richards number whose lyrics were pinned to my wall for many weeks," he added. (ANI)

If it was April 1 I'd think this was a joke. But, wow. They're both huge Buddy Holly fans so it could well be a sweet love song. Then again, it could be an Eddie Cochran styled rocker a la Twenty Flight Rock. Can't wait to hear it. It should give Mick something to think about.

Hmm... McCartney/Richards... No mention of Chuck Lavelle, Darryl Jones or Don Was... Just two of the greatest Brittish rock & rollers writing together... This would be EXACTLY the type of bullsh*t I'd LOVE to hear! Who knows, as Silver Dagger mentioned, maybe Mick might actually think about sitting down and writing with Keith as well.

Peace,
Mr DJA

There's even a nice contemporary photo of Richards and
McCartney in Life. It could be from that occasion.

Cool!!! this is fantastic news!!

I know what you mean about not seeing Paul and Keith being friends....I think John more naturally resonated with Keith than a Paul would....but friends and colleagues and peeps from Back Then are dropping and both Keith and Paul continue to yearn to create and record, so makes sense to me.

How focking fabulous is this--kinda like Beethoven and Schubert cranking out a piece together smiling smiley

So I guess this means that they travel everywhere with their guitars.
Gotta love what you do when you take your job with you on vacations.

Boy ... what a charming comment. What's up, not enough sleep, too little sex, or merely a case of just being a good old fashioned twat ? It's not as if McCartney and Richards between themselves haven't penned a successful song or two (or even several HUNDRED), so why would you say something like that ?

Would be extra cool to hear! Wouldn't be surprised if they jammed on a reggae number or something.

"I Wanna Hold Your Honkey Tonk Women"

Actually, the pairing of Keith and Macca is quite intriguing.

I'd love to see Keith's reaction if McCartney tried to lecture him about the "immorality" of eating meat pies.

Maybe Keith and Paul listened to "Lets Work" and then collaborated.

Paul has made some brilliant songs when he used a tart co-writer along the lines of Lennon and Elvis Costello. Who knows, they might have a nice blend.

I thought Vincent was just being funny.

With the comments of others about Paul and Keith not getting along, or Paul not being cool enough, maybe, just maybe, this could be a really fruitful collaboration of different, but somewhat similar sensibilities. I want to hear it!

If it inspires closer, more genuine, or spontaneous collaboration between Mick and Keith . . .. We can only hope for it.
