Ultimate live versions

Don't treat this thread too seriously, more as a fun, but let's try to choose ultimate live version for each Stones song. I mean the version that is for you the best, way over other live versions. It may be official or bootleg.

I'll start with Tumbling Dice from Ladies And Gentlemen.

Gimme Shelter from Ladies And Gentlemen, June 24 1972. I've never heard it better.

You got the Sun, You got the Moon,
and you've got
The Rolling Stones

Generally the earlier the performance the better in my eyes. The 69-78 shows are often stunning but I like the crazy Brian Jones ones even more. After 1978 I like very little of what they have done live but some of it is ok.

When The Whip Comes Down - Detroit 1978 comes to mind. IMO, the perfect live recording, considering sound, energy and swing.

The hottest/sexiest one for me is Midnight Rambler anytime in the '70's with Mick crawling across the floor & slamming his belt onto the stage! Whew! And the band really rocks it then as well.

Many MR versions from the 1970, 72 and 73 tour are very good/belong to the best. London Roundhouse 1971 isn't bad either if I recall well.

I think this transcends the Stones. This might be the greatest 12 minutes of sound ever created by human beings - I'm not kidding in the slightest!

There are three of them, really:

Hyde Park 1969 - great blues version
New York 1969 - somewhere between blues and rock
Brussels 1973 - 'rock' version

Besides that, I would rate Salt of the earth from Atlanta 1989 an ultimate live vesion of the song. Would not want to miss the studio version with the Gospel singers, of course - it is my favourite Stones song.

Angie from Brussels Affair is a pure gem, which great vintage 70ies keyboards and a good performance from Bill Wyman

Then, the version featured on the 7/7/1990 boot is very different, and great too.
