Got my copy this morning. I quite like it.

Everytime I hear Ronnie I can't believe the Stones never really used him as a resource for songs.

Some of these songs are pretty good and one can only imagine a true collaboration with Mick and Keith would have produced something great.

they used him but they didn´t mention him (seldom)

it's quite good, but very generic rock - it doesn't grow on you, it sounds great to hear the songs once, but they are all a bit shallow (songwriting) and simple. Nothing you can discover in there. That's at least my impression

Listening to samples on Amazon, I think it's not "quite good" (more like O.K., not horrible). I have to agree with Lorenz. Woody's earlier albums sound better to me IMHO.

don't get me wrong, it's a solid and cool abum, just nothing we once will often refer to in let's say a year.

Just heard one of his programs today and really enjoyed it!!!! Nice Woody!!!!

sounds like he is having alot of fun. Apparently Eddie Vedder helped write Lucky Man. He also gave Ronnie another song, but took it back and used it on the recent PJ record. Check it out here. The lyrics are a bit deep, but just hearing it and applying it to Ronnie's recent life would have been pretty incredible. I doubt Ronnie could have sung it in that arrangement. Perhaps it could have been shuffled around rocked up a bit . . .

Didn`t work for me on Amazon, too. But listening to the album is a whole different thing: one of his better ones, fresh and fun to listen. Really, enjoy it!

Agree, to me the best hookline for many years out of the Stones camp. By the way great singing by Ronnie on this record, some great songs, play it all day long.smiling bouncing smiley

odd that you would ask this multiple times without simply checking iTunes

Listening to this right now on Spotify and Christ, the lyrics are absolutely awful. Musically it's what I'd expect from a RW album in 2010. I can tolerate his vocals, but man, the lyrics are just embarrassing.

Can't see this getting played more than once!

I didn't see any producer credit on the album other than the cheeky Mo Krapp line. I assume Ronnie co-produced the whole set like usual?

Typical Ronnie lyrics, as far as I can tell. To each there own ... I like the lyrics a lot, but if one sees them as embarrassing, well not any more-so than any typical Stones' lyrics.

no songwriting at all and the good things reminds me to the Winos. Wasted time wasted energy.

this record is brilliant!

I Don't Thing So and Thing About You are two groovy rockers... they really hit hard. lyrics are especially crap in the first one, but I don't care ;^)
Why You Wanna Go And Do A Thing Like That For and Tell Me Something are the best from the slower ones, another time truly great!

and piano parts are so wonderful. ;^)

Yes, and there are 14 songs on the iTunes version.

Listened to the clips, but it's not moving me, too slick IMHO.

wtf? Which planet are you on, man? The three first songs alone are brilliantly written, performed and are sticking like glue right away, imo.

Too bad you didn´t have the same experience.

He´s singing better than ever, surprisingly. Well, at least best since Now Look.

What You Gonna Go And Do A Thing Like That For is the best Stones-related released track since TY, imo.

+ 1.

the songs are good. the guitars are fantastic, why nothing like that on stones records. his voice is really cool. the band is good too.
the only thing i don´t really like is the drums, i mean i don´t really hate it but it´s sounding a bit generic while everything else sounds fantastic.

better than most of micks and keiths solo stuff and a lot of stones stuff from the last 20 or so years.

not for beginners was also great.
