They are touring now. Not sure how many original band members are involved besides Anderson.

I saw them live recently and they were fantastic. Dont expect high energy, but a warm and enjoyable experience.

Martin Barre is still in the band, and has been their guitarist since their second album (1969).

Apparently what happened to the 70's band is that Ian Anderson recorded a solo album in the early 80's (?). At the last minute the Record Label insisted on releasing it under the Jethro Tull name. Only Martin Barre featured on the album, so suddenly there was a whole NEW Jethro Tull.

I believe one of the old band members died of heart failure, and another had a sex change and "Transformed himself into an elderly lady" (Anderson). Never a dull moment.

That's right. The album in question is titled "A" and was released in 1980.

Woody in his book RONNIE referred to them as "Jethro Dull."

I don't know what JT era Ronnie referred to,
but Anderson stated he hated hippies and drugs in their progrock era.

Should that be a goal for Ronnie?

Why write complicated songs in rock'n'roll anyway?

JT is not too complex, but beautifull imo.
