Did a search before posting, nothing came up on this:

Keith Richards, Jay-Z to give talks at NY library

NEW YORK (AP) Don't make them whisper: Keith Richards and Jay-Z each will give talks this fall at the New York Public Library.

The Rolling Stones guitarist will speak Oct. 29 at the Celeste Bartos auditorium at the library's main branch on 5th Avenue as part of the promotion for his memoir "Life." Jay-Z will discuss his memoir "Decoded" on Nov. 15.

The library has hosted musicians before, including members of the Velvet Underground and David Byrne of Talking Heads.

Other upcoming guests announced Wednesday will likely attract a more bookish crowd: Nobel laureate Toni Morrison, Pulitzer Prize-winning poet W.S. Merwin and Israeli novelist David Grossman.

Anybody who talks loudly while Keith is in the library will get a guitar smashed over their head

Didn't Keith fall and break some bones or something "reaching for a book?" last time he was in a library?

It was in his very own library at home in Weston. And he's there - in tha library - all the time while at home. He hurt his shoulder, and tour start was altered a little.
He was reaching for a book about Leonardo da Vinci, standing on a library ladder, stretching for the book, in stead of moving the ladder...
He actually even tried to categorize his book collection using the international librarian key, but it took too much time.
He reads all the time, and always has done. Even in the 60s, according to band mate Charlie, who says in interviews "He always reads, big, heavy books. All the time. He did back in the 60s and he's still reading".

I wonder if he has any Stones books in his library?

And speaking of the library-at-home fall off the ladder, I think Ronnie did a sketch of Keith resting with his arm in a sling. If I remember correctly, (in the sketch) Keith is sitting up in bed reading!

The library in Keith's home in Connecticut is so warm & cosy. Love it.It's so Keith.

Saw this bizarre chick at the (can't remember what one) library in Amsterdam last time I was there. Playing a gig up on the second floor. It was obvious what was going, it was some promoted thing that they do every, well, I dunno what day it was but they do it every week, so no big deal right? She flipped her wig, coming up to us screaming (ha ha, the irony of it was beautiful) THIS IS A LIBRARY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING PLAYING THIS LOUD MUSIC!!!???

What's the point? I dunno. But I could see someone giving Keith shit for being in a library instead of on a stage I guess.

This is also evidently going to serve as Keith's one and only book signing. Gonna be a tough ticket.

I know someone who worked in his Weston Ct home and Keith is a history buff. He likes military history too. New Barbarians!

Beast, got this email today:

Tickets will be available for all events on September 13, except for our Keith Richards and Jay-Z events, where tickets only go on sale a month before the actual event. All tickets are $25 ($15 if you are a Friend of the library), and can only be purchased by going to www.showclix.com.
Tickets are sold on a first come first serve basis through that website, and seating is unassigned. All LIVE events begin at 7, with doors opening at 6:30 and usually last around around 1-2 hours with an additional twenty minutes for Q & A. I just looked into the book signing question, and almost all the events have a book signing directly following them, unless otherwise noted. All information about this season of LIVE, including scheduling and ticket purchases will be available on our website www.nypl.org/LIVE on September 3. Please let me know if I can provide you with any additional information

Aw I would love to go to this. But I have a feeling all my luck was used up when I got my Beacon ticket. Still - I'm gonna try!

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.
