This just in. Coincidentally, it's about paying a very large amount of money to have a close-up encounter with a Stone (I posted a silly "would you rather" scenario about paying $3000 for good seats in a 500-person venue vs. $15 for nosebleed at a stadium).

So here's the real deal. I'm unfortunately going to have to RSVP my regrets for this one winking smiley Don't have a spare $25K lying around.

Want to Have Dinner With Ronnie Wood?

Announcing Ronnie Wood's new print release, Just My Imagination, a suite of four finely crafted intaglio prints on hand laid paper.

The pre-publication release price is $2,750 for the suite of four signed limited editions. Call 800.344.9633 or email info@sfae.com to register your order today.

You May Be Going To A Dinner With Ronnie Wood

The night before Ronnie's first American museum show at the Butler Museum in Ohio he will be hosting a small dinner with some of the largest collectors of his art to celebrate this amazing occasion.

Every person who collects the latest print suite before September 1, 2010 will be put into a drawing, the winner of which and a companion will join Ronnie the evening of Monday, September 20, 2010 for dinner.

Want A Guaranteed Invitation?
Anyone who acquires a Ronnie original artwork valued at $25,000 or more will automatically be invited to the dinner along with a guest.

Please call 800.344.9633 for further details. Space is filling up quickly.

Have you ever wondered what it might be like to hang out with a Rolling Stone? Well, here's your chance.

Looks like he drew Charlie touching his private parts.

For a lot less, you can have dinner with Jo Wood and she'll even cook for you!

It sounds a little desperate to me. OTOH, there seems to be a lot of Big $$$ floating around here in San Francisco, so maybe it'll be successful for him. I kinda hope it is...sounds like he's in a lot of debt. I would be sad if no one buys his art or attends the dinner. I'll be interested to hear how many people signed up.

I wouldn't pay $25,000 to have dinner with -- anyone alive or dead.

And it does look like he drew Charlie touching his private parts - lol!

No sure what to make of the Hippie Scum comment...seems like a bit of a nonsequitor. Maybe "Who's Driving Your Plane?" needs to start an OT post on the topic.

Edith, I'd enjoy dinner with Joe, I think, would you?

And Tele, there was actually a dinner/drinks/Q&A with Chuck Leavell event last year at the Mansion on O Street in DC, for I think about $250 - an old boyfriend invited me down for it if I'd pay for my own travel expenses but I declined b/c I don't have anything to say/ask Chuck.

$250 Swiss? I was off by a factor of ten. A real man would have paid your way! Anyway, too bad. It would have been an opportunity ask him why he doesn't get a real piano.

Ronnie needs to get a grip here and rid himself of whomsoever is marketing his art, this kind of marketing garbage is just downright offensive. It sucks. I have three of his bits of art, Conversation Piece, Wild Horses, and WaWa - pretty much everything else of his I don't personally dig. I'm always getting emails like the one Swiss mentioned in this thread, but this latest one .... "spend $ 25,000 and have dinner with Ronnie" ... who in the hell dreamt that one up ? Absolute garbage in my opinion.

This is a very strange offer indeed, it sounds rather tasteless.

Agreed....tho what's more whorish? dinner with Ronnie for $25K or what we saw Bill Wyman doing the other week...that video of him with the corporate exec guys who paid him (probably $25K) to play Jumping Jack Flash with them?

Yes, absolutely.

There was a time when she was hosting dinners in her home to promote her healthy living philosophy. Don't know if she's still doing this or what the cost is.
Assuming she would be willing to talk about her life with the Stones, I'm thinking she would likely give an interesting and down-to-earth discussion about her experiences.

I'd be happy to buy him a Big Mac and a shake if he doodles something on the napkin for me. That's the best I can do right now.

Utter bollocks.

If somebody has that kind of money in his pocket to dinner with Ronnie, what's the use. He is probably drunk before the main cours or starter, so you won't have any opportunity to have a chat with him without being offended or worse...

So forget this asap only concentrate on the old decent R&R.

Sincerely,
UW

Tele, ha ha - he is a real man and a real sweetie - just not that much of a monied man. I could've paid my way but Chuck not interesting to me.

OK, Swiss. I trust your judgment in matters of the heart...I likewise, would not have much to say to Chuck beyond "pass the salt, please".
