Did you ever wake up to find
A day that broke up your mind
Destroyed your notion of circular time

I woke up with

When a woman gets the blues she hangs her little head and cries
But when a man gets the blues he grabs a train and rides

That George Harrison album is wonderful and I always thought that it should have received more acclaim. Do a lot of folks here know about it? I'd like to hear some personal thoughts on this one.

Brainwashed is a good one. Not his best, but one of the better.
I still prefer Cloud 9 from his later years though.

I never tire of "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea." George is greatly missed.

Woke up with the "Interjection" song from Schoolhouse Rock unfortunately.
Maybe I'll give Brainwashed a spin instead!

Brainwashed - a fine album. I still spin it once in a while. Still sad George had to go, but he went on a good note. It brings good memories for me to as it came out the month I got my first apartment and lived on my own. Ahhh, my early 20's - what a time.

The other night I lay sleeping
And I woke from a terrible dream
So I called up my pal Jack Daniel's
And his partner Jimmy Beam

I've not long woken up after a dream..that Mick was our school teacher and because of his enthusiasm and wanting his pupils to do well he always got the classes full attention.

I woke up to Cypress Hill's INSANE IN THE MEMBERANE, but I recently played Brainwashed to a friend who recently fell in love with ukuleles, and I wanted him to hear George Harrison play the ukulele on BETWEEN THE DEVIL AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA.

STUNNING ALBUM! Really his best since All Things Must Pass. A very poignant and beautifull statement from a dying man. All his humor and sardonic wit in full force. He won a grammy for best instrumental for Marwa Blues. If you can get a boot of the All Things Must Pass sessions he does a version called Rocking Chair blues, that he put decades later on Brainwashed as Rocking Chair in Hawaii. The deluxe box set of the disc is fantastic with a short DVD of interviews with Harrison and a video for Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. One of my favorite Harrison releases!!!
