There's A LOT - really a lot - about music.
But he opens up in this book, and for those who don't really know him, the surface is probably everything you've seen. Most mature, intelligent people would probably like to know a bit more about him than just the image, the music and the clothes...

Well (a) sounds like you've read it in full and (b) sounds like it's a very enjoyable read and quite revealing ... which if you think about it logically is pretty much what all but the most stupid or misguided among us would actually wish it to be. I cannot wait to read it, and I'm indeed expecting it to reveal a Keith that none of us know ... and thank heavens for that. It's really not very difficult to imagine that for a man who is a self confessed book junkie, and who has on countless occasions inferred that the popular image of Keith Richards is "our invention" more so than anything else, the book will likely destroy some of those "popular myths" ... and a sizeable chunk of reality will finally emerge.

When is it due out in the UK ? Anyone know ?
It's a simultaneous world wide release on October 26th.
That's why our release party in Oslo in on October 25th, and at midnight, October 26th, at 00.00.01 - we start selling the book.

Yes, I've read everything - except for the last two or three chapters. They were not ready when I joined the PR team.

I know this is old, but hey ...........

Time moves on, so are there any further rumblings about release dates (in the UK seeing as I live here), book signings, etc ? It's supposed to be October is it not ? Ain't far off, a month and a bit.

if he does a London booksigning, Pauly, it'll be Waterstones Piccadilly.

It'll be wristband entry. no personal dedications, no more than 2 books per customer. Signing book only - no merchandise. No posed photography.

That's the general rule of thumb with the
overbearing control-freaks at Waterstones.

Yep, agree. Apparently there won't be book signings though, or at any rate just a single one in some obscure destination on the east coast of the States, or maybe somewhere in NYC ? Heard that one ?

I'd be very suprised if he did a signing in the U.S and not the U.K.

'A' listers generally do a Barnes & Noble in either NY/LA and Waterstones London.

Seeing the experience I had with Stone Me and its French translation, I'll buy the French AND the original book.

it's not solid information, is educated guesswork based on numerous other such events and occasions.
If you know otherwise, please tell.

Belated response to lem...

I wasn't upset you picked on my "hero" and I wasn't wearing knickers at the time so they weren't in a bunch when I posted my response.

I thought I was being funny and it still strikes me as amusing as your post did you, so what's the harm?

And yes, I'm quite pleased you made no spelling errors in your two subsequent posts, Melvin.

Of course I cannot wait to read this book, but I have also been wondering about the photos that will be in the book. Anyone else curious about this as well?
I really, really hope that they don't use stock agency photos that we've seen dozens oftimes in all of the other books. I'd be thrilled if it contained photos from Keith's own collection or photos by photographers and/or friends that have never been published before.

Hatchette Audio has announced that award-winning actor Johnny Depp will read the audiobook edition of Keith's highly anticipated new autobiography. A part of pop culture since his days on 21 Jump Street, Depp has given memorable performances in films like Edward Scissorhands, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and this year's Alice In Wonderland.

One of Depp's best-known roles is Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Depp has said in inteviews that he based the character on his friend Keith, a revelation that led to Keith's appearance as Captain Jacks' father in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.

Depp will be joined on the 22 and a half hour audiobook by fellow musician Joe Hurley and by Keith himself.
