spare me, its gonna be a bullshit fest from beginning to end.maybe he can tell us again how he had hep c and cured it himself[not medically possible by the way] or how as the heart and soul of the stones he kept the band together by his shear will......

maybe they should have a q and a section-keith if you're really dumb enough to snort your fathers ashes, why tell anyone?

what color was muddy painting the ceiling"

if you wanted the stones to grow up and not wear lemon yellow tights_why the charms in your hair?

do you still play guitar or are you just a professional interviewee now?

can we expect anymore of those great ballads you're known for,i.e. the bathroombreak lullabys.

did someone force you at gunpoint to wear the bright blue reeboks?

Keith's autobiography "Life"

Just a few words...
He's not a writer, he's just the guitarist, the co-writer of the songs of The ROLLING STONES and one of the f@@~@~legend of Rock'n'Roll.
Whatever he write, he doesn't write, he forgot to remember, that should be a good readin' for every fan, I'm IN to purchase the book, I don't care about the rest...

great-but does it go under fiction or non-fiction?

lem, much as I enjoyed picturing the vein in your forehead throb when you let loose on Keith above, you might wish to note that "shear will" is actually "sheer will" and that the inclusion of periods at the end of your sentences and the addition of capital letters to the first word at the beginning of your sentences will help you pass for reasonably educated. Sadly, it will do nothing to help with your anger management issues. You'll need to see another instructor for that one.

I mean has anyone ever written a rock and roll biography or "autobiography" that was accurate? Or for that matter really exposed anything totally new? The cliche is horrid but if you remember it you weren't there.

I would love to have an audio version of this book read by Keith. That would be so funny.

There is an audio book listed on Amazon, read by both Keith and Gary Oldman.

I've pre-ordered the paper copy.

Eh? No doubt I'll be reading it at the same time as pretty much everyone else.

My point was that we only 'know' a tiny fraction of the man's life. And next to nothing about the private Keith.
Gazza's right. I thought I knew just about everything there is to know about him, but after reading the book, I realized I was familiar with "the skeleton". In the book Keith and his co-author add flesh, muscle, brains and shows us the heart and soul of a man we thought we knew. But not many people know him very well. He's kind of shy and has invented his image to use as a shell to protect himself. Underneath there's someone vulnerable, a very sensitive man. It was very nice to read the book and get to know him a little better.
And yes, of course the whiners and the army of negativity in this board (we know who you are - and we couldn't care less!) will whine and criticize, use foul language and ugly attacks. But read the book yourselves, make up your own mind.

I hope there are some bits about music too, I'm honestly more interested about that than about Keith's "flesh, muscle and brains".

There's A LOT - really a lot - about music.
But he opens up in this book, and for those who don't really know him, the surface is probably everything you've seen. Most mature, intelligent people would probably like to know a bit more about him than just the image, the music and the clothes...

I'm not taking the bait on "mature, intelligent" now, but I glad to hear that there is some parts on the music as well - of course I enjoy the personal stories, but for example in Ronnie's book I really missed the details on the music.

I would assume that most fans do want to hear the story from the man who lived it. And book signing isn't very rock'n'roll, is it?

Of course I'll read it although I'm still a bit sceptical.

But I think it's not really new that he's a shy, sensitive soul who used image and drugs to protect him . .

But Keith can do it! He's ROLL! (Mick's ROCK, remember) Just an attempt at being funny. But I know several people here who went to at least one of Ronnie's book signings. And were quite happy with that.
Anyway - like it or not - but we're going to ask Keith politely to sign a few copies, to use as prizes. Along with some other really nice stuff. >grinning smiley<

Well (a) sounds like you've read it in full and (b) sounds like it's a very enjoyable read and quite revealing ... which if you think about it logically is pretty much what all but the most stupid or misguided among us would actually wish it to be. I cannot wait to read it, and I'm indeed expecting it to reveal a Keith that none of us know ... and thank heavens for that. It's really not very difficult to imagine that for a man who is a self confessed book junkie, and who has on countless occasions inferred that the popular image of Keith Richards is "our invention" more so than anything else, the book will likely destroy some of those "popular myths" ... and a sizeable chunk of reality will finally emerge.

When is it due out in the UK ? Anyone know ?
