I prefer the studio affair..cause his guitar is out of tune.
His tone is great here!!

How can say 'how the mighty have fallen' based on this one performance my fragile rodential friend?

Wow! This looks like something our old friend Lukester might have written!

I needed to use a subterfuge-gambit? - to be sure I'll get some answers ...

More seriously,I really love this number .
Is Taylor a bit out of tune at the beginning ?

I am a Frenchie ,as Mick affectionately called them in the Old Grey Whistle Test in 1977 .

The entire song actually.
But then who cares, his playing here is still great, band included.

Great clip, many thanks for sharing.

Yes, out of tune and hitting a few bad notes as well - but who cares? He still shows a fair bit of the melodic distinction that helped lead to such great Stones songs as CYHMK, to name just one.

The man has clearly had some stumbles along the path of life - but really, who hasn't? I love that he's still up there fighting and persevering.

Far too easy to bash, why not enoy the unique talent that lead to one of the Stones most creative and enjoyable eras? I love each and every period of the band, but really do miss the spark that Mr. Taylor's playing added to the mix.

Well, the guitar is not out of tune (which string is then?). He is just playing the wrong notes. He's more a bluesguitarist who's trying to do some fushion. He tried to do that on these first I'm Free's on the 1969 tour. Without much success.

I think it's the g-string.For the rest I would refer to open-g's post,or my previous, containing the same message.

I was there for this. have to admit to not being 100% impressed with Taylor, although I was pretty tightly wrapped at the time.

On the whole though the weekend was a blast, one of the better rock and blues festivals so far, as it had a better misture of both rock and blues, whereas in the past emphasis has been squarley placed on the Blues.

Best story from the weekend was with my mate who I live with, legend of a man, saw the Stones in Hyde Park in 69. When Saxon were playing, I turned around and there was Taylor in the crowd watching the band, I turned to my mate and said blimey! look who it is. Told him he was there in 69 too. My china Roger looks at him and says, 'You @#$%& weren't there at Hyde Park in 69! I was! thats when I pointed out it was Mick Taylor and he was actually on stage playing at the gig! Ha
the drugs do work apprarently

Of course I am not;you know I was teasing you.Or I would be a very mediocre/paltry one :-)
The proof is that I didn't want to believe Kleermaker was Dutch cool smiley
But honestly-sorry to go out of topic right now - mentalism ,ima, has more things to do -or should have- with clairvoyance, analysis & photographic memory rather than mediumship.

I never went to see a shrinks myself, but I sometimes have serious doubts about their claivoyance.
