If I had to pick between Zep & the Stones on the same night, Zep would get my nod, just because I've never seen them before.

WHAAAAAT!
Led Zeppelin is a good band, I put them on sometimes, but every song in their catalogue has a better equivalent by the Stones.
it's only that Led Zep are enjoyed by casual pop/rock fans, blues fans and metal fans, while the Stones are popular mostly for their fame, not music. people know they play rock and that's all x)

If in 2011 The Stones decide to tour and so does Led Zeppelin,Which band do you think would come out on top,in ticket sales?
Imo, Led Zeppelin would sell much more than the Stones,if for no other reason than the fact that they haven't done it in a long time, and unless The Stones come with something new in terms of venues, setlists, etc,l think they may not do very well.
Any opinions?

I'm sick of the stones.
I think I'm going to start my own Led Zeppeling website, and call it:
www.swth.org....or should it be sth.org?
Is it stairway, or stair way??
You're soooo wrong.Quote

depends on where I would think.
In England and US, probably Led Zeppelin (30 years of pent up demand), but in the rest of the world, I would presume still the Stones.

LZ would outsell the Stones even in Mars.
Millions of people haven't seen them play.

Well, BILLIONS of people haven't seen the Stones play either, that doesn't mean they are banging down the door to see a Stones show. STONES have wider international appeal, after touring like hell over the last 20 years. Led Zeppelin were big 30 years ago, but I'm not sure outside of North America or Northern Europe there would be the type of rabid enthusiasm you are alluding to.
