I absolutely love this song. This is a very underrated song, IMO. Can't get enough of it.

Simply great. I love BB.

The guitar work in it is pretty good. Keith has a nasty bit that's against the grain.

There are days where I like it and days where I can't stand it. A bit off lyrically.

I liked this from the beginning. I prefer it over Almost Hear You Sigh which more people seem to love

For me it's not a gem, I like it though. It has a nicely romantic atmosphere, quiet acoustic guitar, lovely harmonies between Jagger, Richards and jazzy Watts. It's like sitting outside, in the dark, after having BBQ, staring at the fire... then pick up the guitar and enjoy yourself.

Not crazy about B2B. So I didn't even know about this song until someone on here mentioned it a couple of years ago. So I downloaded it. It's a good tune,I enjoy it.

and it's a little more subtle than a titling something "This Song Sucks - Don't Listen to It"

I do like "Thief in the Night"....although it should have been titled "Keef in the Night".

It's kinda hard for me to say what it is that I like about the song. Whenever I hear a song that I like, I don't usually stop and wonder what it is that I like about it. It just hits me. Analizing too much would ruin the magic of the song. However, since you asked... I'll try to point out some of the things that make me love the song:

-The country harmonies on the chorus are great
-I dig the guitar work.
-I love Keith's little solo. It's very simple but very emotional and one of the greatest moments in the song is when Mick goes "Oh Yeah" when Keith plays the first notes of the solo. I guess I'm kind of a dork but I love that, hahaha!
-Ronnie's steel guitar, although only noticeable in some parts of the song really gives a great country flavour to the whole thing.
-I like Mick's singing and think there's nothing wrong with the lyrics.

Despite what it says on the credits, Charlie doesn't sing backing vocals.

Someone asked him about it on an AOL online interview a few months after the album came out, and when it was pointed out that he'd been credited as a vacking vocalist, it appeared that this was the first time he'd been aware of it. He flat out denied that he sings anywhere on the track.

Must have been some kind of in-joke.

Charlie might have quite a few inside jokes...
I think back to the live broadcast of the Miami show,
in the pre-concert broadcast of some backstage banter....

Charlie is backstage saying something like ..
"Oh we are just backstage eating some snacks and getting ready"
and then the camera pulls back...AND THERE WAS CUE CARDS WITH THOSE WORDS ON THEM ....LMAO....

I have always liked Charlie.

That's actually the only song on B2B I could do without. But, I'm glad you like it.

this is one of my favorites from B2B.

It's one of their best ballads EVER! Great feel, great guitars, great sound, great vocals.

Love the album, hate the song.

I have not listened to this one in quite a while but it is a lost gem. Good song and nice guitar work.
