Mick, Charlie, Keith - Outdone by the Beatles?

Could Charlie Mick and Keith take the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band Reprise and turn it into another Stones masterpiece?

Would Charlies intellectual jazz abilities, Keith's rock 'n' roll blues lines and Mick Jagger's unique vocals trump the Beatles at their own game?

Personally I am NOT a Beatles fan, but I find myself lately listening to the whole song over and over; ESPECIALLY THE INTRO, which I find quite intriquing

I feel this is a rock and roll masterpiece but is it possible that the Stones could have done it better? Or is this a one up man ship by the beatles over the stones.

I am not comparing stones to beatles songs but rather musicianship.

I doubt it...the Beatles had some excellent muscians themselves, and were probably technically better vocalists.

If you were to take a different song, ie I Wanna Be Your Man, in a different style, then you may be on to something.

But it's like asking if the Beatles could do a better version of Satisfaction, Brown Sugar or SFTD...it is not 'in their style', so it probably wouldn't be as good.

Sounds like another Beatles vs. Stones argument.

Sgt Pepper's soooo overrated...

The Beatles as a whole ARE overrated. They were nice harmless boys with nice harmless songs. None of them could have made genuinely scary songs like Sympathy or GS.
The Beatles were a sophisticated version of elevator music.

Inspired by the WC 2010, I decided to make two soccer teams, one consisting of 11 Beatles
songs and one of 11 Stones songs. Let's see who wins:

Beatles team
Goal keeper:
Come together

Defenders:
All my loving
She loves you
Drive my car
Here comes the sun

Midfield:
I am the walrus
Strawberry fields forever
Eleanor Rigby
While my guitar gently weeps

Forwards:
Helter skelter
Hey Jude

Stones team
Goal keeper:
Paint it, black

Defenders:
Satisfaction
Street fighting man
Jumping Jack Flash
Start me up

Midfield:
Gimme Shelter
Sympathy for the devil
She's a rainbow
Can't you hear me knocking

Forwards:
Brown Sugar
You can't always get what you want

It seems to me the Stones can win this game with a 7-4 victory at least.

Could the Stones do "I Wanna Be Your Man" and make it better than the Beatles? I love the original. One of Ringo's best vocals. It has a great Little Richard feel to it. Would love to hear the Stones try it. For that matter, what about Keith and the Winos? Results might be interesting.

First - a matter of taste, what do you like: pop or rock / blues.

Second - what is better than the other? Is Mozart better than Beethoven? Is Cheese Cake better than Chocolate Mousse

To me: BB LIB SF and EOMS shows that Stones were not outdone by Beatles.

What do you mean "could" they trump it? They did and continue to do so with virtually every recording!
