It sounds to me that it's standard tuning on Ya-Ya's. I thought he didn't use the open G capo at the fourth fret until...what, TOTA?

His Majesty
Open G with capo at 4th fret.
Onstage he's played it this way since Hyde Park 1969.

Someone PLEASE come up with a definitive thread that says it all - studio tuning, Circus tuning and all live tunings and get this shit over with.

..... yeah I'd agree with that; open D tuning ..D A D F# A D (Studio) and capoed at either 1 (key E flat) or 2nd (key E)

Keith played the svt series on ya ya's.
There is one for sale in Music Store "Dirk de Witte" In Amsterdam. It looks like an exact copy of Keith Amp, ,but it's from '72 or'73 I believe. ... like new.
Since Ive got a VT22 I don't buy it, and further it's as big as a wardrobe.
Maybe, but maybe not. In Ethan Russell's 'Let It Bleed' there is a pic of Keith playing the Bigsby Les Paul that he used for Honky Tonk Women in 'Gimme Shelter' but in this pic the guitar is capoed at the 4th fret. So he is either playing 'Jumping Jack Flash' or 'Street Fighting Man' That was quite a surprise because I had the preconception that Keith and Mick T. used the same guitar for the same song at every show. Apparently this was not the case...Quote

Was it one of the Les Paul Black Beauties he played?
