No, you're not as I like it as well as the album.
To answer the question...Back Of My Hand. Well it IS slow...
Huh ? non comprende senor !
Sorry EddieByword I hit the quote button on yours thinking it was for another post mentioning Biggest Mistake.
Ahhh...there is light.(Elmo's question)..Thanks, Eddie.....(I like ABB too except Infamy which imo is pitiful.....the most shocking thing though about infamy is that KR can't see just how shockingly bad it is....and he's got the nerve to critisize Fool to cry & Streets of love which are 'operatic' in quality in comparison.........

If we're counting singles, then I Think I'm Going Mad from the eighties would be the last REALLY great slow song.

"Lay Me Down (Real) Slow" comes to mind. Is that a slow song? Haven't listened to the album since it came out, but that one popped in my head.

Wow, I thought Infamy was the best one on the album.

The last great slow Stones' tunes, 3 each from both Mick and Keith, newest to oldest:

Laugh I Nearly Died
Thief In The Night (it breathed more when played live)
Thru and Thru
Wish I'd Never Met You
Sleep Tonight
Down In The Hole

No, and it doesn't count as 'great' either.

Laugh, I Nearly Died.

Following The River feels like a Mick song, not a Stones song, to me - I like it but don't think it's Great.

Beast of Burden was the last truly great slow song...there have been many good slow songs since then but none which will go down and be remembered like BOB!

Not really. Typical Stones mid-tempo . .

Thru And Thru. They don't come much slower than that. Particularly the tripped out extra long outtake. Now that's really got some Voodoo flying through it.

Streets of Love.

Atlantic City version was great....

I think the Stones can still write a good ballad. What I think has hurt them, for a long time, has been production. Maybe too slick?
