...I've been a concert promoter for over 12 years (1,200 max.cap. concert hall), doing loads of garage/ surf/ 'monstro'/ psychobilly stuff; and although "Title 5" doesn't really shift boundaries or break down walls in those departments, it is a highly 'credibile' track indeed- it does stand out for me, as a Stones track. I just never thought the Boys would pull one like that; and with such ease, swagger, finesse & authenticity... ànd with that typical 'trainwreck/ crashing airplane' ending!! Luvit- I profoundly regret it's just a mere 1'50"...

This is perhaps the most mysterious of Stones tracks. Mathjis thinks it is from the Between The Buttons sessions, and indeed it sounds out of place on Exile. But supposedly all tracks come from the "Exile period".

...true. It doesn't sound very '72 to me, either.
And there's something else that puzzles me: the line-up (in the liner notes) only mentions Keith on guitar; but I hear 2 guitars...
Off course, overdubs can be the answer; but the intro ("Title 5... take one..." ) suggests it's live & in one take, doesn't it?!
