I forget which thread it was but it was about the Paris verse in Honky Tonk from Love You Live. I listened to it on headphones - sounds live to me, not an overdub.

Really like Still Life mainly because of Going to a Go Go and Twenty Flight Rock.

Sill Life - the most satysfying and most reliable album from one of many different Stones "live" eras. Why not double album? nobady knows but they `ve never realised perfect and reliable live album.
We should have live albums from 72 , 73 then double album from 75 , album from El Mocambo , double album from 81 and double album from Atlantic City 89 concert .Than maybe 2 disc big compilation from small clubs and different arenas 1994-2007.
Anyway my list is
1.Still Life
2.Love You Live.
3.Get yer Yayas out.
4.Stripped

A series of special limited edition live releases like this would keep fans happy and the Stones with shekels coming in for years and years. They should take a page out of Bob Dylan's book. How many legendary shows must they have on tape, yet they continue to only release grandiose live projects with the same old songs on them. "Stripped" wasn't a bad idea, but it was kind of half-executed. Also a very long time ago. They should start with '72-'73, then maybe the whole El Mocambo show, and go from there.

1. Love you live
2. Get your ya ya's out
3. Stripped
4. Still Life (loved it and the 81 tour but always felt it was too short and didn't include some great versions of songs from that tour Neighbors, Black Limo and others. And don't care for that version of Satisfaction)

almost all the pre-vegas tours have fabulous, hq boots circulating that adequately represent them ....the 70 and 71 tours are notable exceptions. not sure there's a big market for these kinda things, but the overhead is practically nil, so why the hell not? the fact that arguably their greatest live era (72-73) is not represented on audio at all is something of a "WTF?"

It's a shame. However good the sound quality of some bootlegs from that period is, it's of course never optimal.

Ya Yas'
Stripped
Shine a Light
No Security

Best think about Flashpoint is the 2 studio tracks (and 'Factory Giirl). Too controlled, too many Matt Clifford effects. Still Life has its moments, 20 Flight and Go Go, and the band is loose, but Jagger sounds disconnected and out of shape. LYL is marred throughout by Jagger's compulsive slurring and avoidance of consonants and half hearted "black" mannerisms (egged on by Billy). I hear contempt for his own songs.

2 - Let It Bleed
3 - Aftermath
4 - Tattoo You

IMHO,The Stones have never released a real official "live" album. All the ones out have been overdubbed to death, a live album for me should be as it was played at a particular concert..

That was me. And I was refering to the Pasris verse on Ya-Yas, not Love You Live. In Love You Live, yes, it does sound like he's singing that cheesey verse about being gay for French sailors is in fact live. It's on Ya-Ya's where you can hear that Mick's added the verse in the studio but the original vers stell bleeds through, maybe picked up through the drum mics?

Thank god Mick switched in back in '78.
