Has the riffmaster ever mentioned doing MDMA? He 's done ever other one but never heard him or any stones mention taking it.

I recall a Details magazine interview in 1995 where Keith discussed MDMA. I can't remember what the answer was.

I know he's done open e, not sure about regular e.

In an interview, he said he hadn't taken E as such, but he knew the ingredients and he's had that combination before. Or something to that effect.

I can’t imagine Keith has tried it. The drug doesn’t generally mix with rock and roll, rather it’s more for those who enjoy house, drum ‘n’ bass and raving ‘till 6 a.m. in disused warehouses.

I'm glad I've managed to resist this vile drug - many I know, haven't.

Trust me the stones sound amazing on E. It is not as "vile" or addictive as coke or heroin...

Here here Matty, I'd agree with that 100%. Sorry big al but you are talking crap...all music, if it's got a decent beat, sounds good on E. Listen to Gimme Shelter on one...you'll never look back.

My doctor told me that I'm to stay away from anything that jacks up serotonine (or whatever). I did way too much acid in the 90's so it's still, very risky for me. My friends do E, I decline and stick to beer & pot.

He has stated that he has never messed with ecstacy or any of those modern drugs cause they mess with your brain instead of your mind through your body. Ecstacy can swiss cheese your brain. Scientific fact. Some people suffer severe memory loss after one time.

Well I guess that over the years, Keith did enough of everything else that he probably didnt need to take Es.

I may have been under the influence of E at the Vancouver '06 show, the night Keith did three songs instead of two. I'm not saying I was, but I could not in good conscience deny it either. Great night but the next day was certainly no picnic

And speaking of Keith, I'm gonna go out on a limb and bet that no matter what he might claim, he has tried everything there is out there, including ecstasy.

"if it's got a decent beat, sounds good on E"

How many songs from the Manchester "golden era" of 87-90 do we still listen to? None! E is a crap substance that produced crap music.

Anyone who thinks E is crap has never had a good pill and raved til dawn with hundreds of like-minded people back in the day. The dance music that came out of the rave underground was incredibly influential - you can still hear 20yr old synth riffs being used on some Euro-cheese pop tunes today. I regret nothing!

...Just the one song:
"Sympathy for the Devil".

I bet he's tried it! Mick said he liked Jungle in mid 90's, reckon he tried E?

Personally like most drugs, when used in moderation with good knowledge of what it is, what you're buying, what it does and how best to avoid doing yourself in, E can be one of the best highs out there.

Imo a lot drug deaths are caused by ignorance of the drug in question not the drug itself. It's always going to be a bit risky though, but so is day to day living.

The University of Michigan has been studying E for years. Mostly because there was a high number of young users who were showing symptoms of Parkinson's disease, most probably brought on by consistent use of E. This is not a benign drug but has some serious and long lasting side effects.

The Parkinson's disease story is something of a myth.

There was one study that suggested this, but the methodology was discovered to be flawed and the scientist himself retracted the study. MDMA has been around since 1912 and the only major long-term problems associated with moderate use appear to be serotonin reduction, and there's no conclusive evidence that this is a permanent side effect.

Of course nothing that makes you feel that good is going to be 100% good for you, but in the great variety of legal and illegal drugs around, it's a fairly benign one to do...

Soup Dragons? Happy Mondays? C'mon, this music only reminds you of the girl that blew you in a dark corner of the Hacienda... >grinning smiley<
