That Thing You Do is one of the most watchable films ever made about rock. It's one of the few period pieces that gets every detail right, with an imaginary "hit" song that actually sounds like it could have been a chart topper.

I love Uruguay, especially Colonia de Sacramento...

You really thought Cadillac Records was good? They completely erased Phil Chess, made a phony romance between Leonard Chess and Etta James and made cartoon characters of most of the others (ok, the guy who played Howlin' Wolf was pretty good). I was very interested in the subject matter (Chess Records) but was extremely disappointed by this film.

The Wilco movie was fascinating, some of it for unintended reasons (which I thnk speaks well for it). You got to see an unexpected power struggle within the band between Tweedy and Jeff Bennett. It was also very clear that Wilco is The Jeff Tweedy Show. Just look at the group picture on this cover. The other guys are turned around or are looking away. They are almost devoid of individual personalities in the movie. They could have hired actors to play them. Wilco is Tweedy, and woe to all that challenge the mighty Tweedy.
